Notes & Combos

  • I didn't have as much fun playing R-ACE close to 40, so I went back and kept on adding engine and non-engine in hopes of bricking less on the R-ACE Spell/Traps or other non-ideal openers like Hydrant, Turbulence, or Preventer.
  • Snake-Eye package with Bonfire, Poplar, Diabellstar and Wanted. The main use is to search out Original Sinful Spoil - Snake-Eye, which gets to Hydrant without using up the Normal Summon. If I already have Air Lifter, I usually hold it back to either use it to extend, or to search Subversion for removal.
  • The Kash "package" is just the Birth, Fenrir, and 2 Unicorn. It's free Link material, decent standalone disruption, and is great when the game is running long.
  • For the non-engine: R-ACE can play well under Maxx-C, so I didn't include Ash Blossom (Which also enables opponents to Link-Climb with Hiita, same reason why I didn't like Impulse) or Crossout.
  • Instead I tried out some board breakers, like Talents, Thrust, and Evenly. It's for sure worse against Branded Puppet-lock or combo decks like Mannadium, but I didn't face a lot of those. If I evenly the standard Snake-Eye board they rarely keep the Flamberge, so they don't have the resources to play the long game. It's also nice to not be as hopeless against stuff like Stun or Floo.
  • I didn't put much thought in the Extra Deck. I'm sometimes happy already passing on Hydrant, Turb, and maybe a random Kash. There are probably lines that make Apollousa before getting to Turbulence, but I was fine just playing around Nibiru that way.
  • Also should run Accesscode instead of Anima, Wynn, or Aussa. They rarely come up.
