Centur-Ion Guide!
Welcome to a guide of one of the most prolific synchro packages played as well as a solid archetype.
**By Centurion community hosted by
Centur-Ion?
What isAs an archetype Centur-Ion
in the most standard form is a deck that spams level 12 synchros when left alone! This deck spams level 4 and 8 tuners and nontuners making it a solid engine for xyz and synchro!
Is the deck simple?
YES!
There are complex interactions, and the deck will get harder after support, but its main function is simple.
But I like high ceiling combo decks!
Thats ok! Adding this to your combo deck usually makes everything go smoother, and could even boost the potential! Sometimes by a little sometimes a LOT!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Before reading,
There are many important combos that stray far away from the usual combos. Take note of this when it is said "Usually"
Our Cards
- Starters
- Extenders
- Interruption
- Bosses
- Example Lists
Starters
Centurion Primera
This is the bread and butter of original Centur-Ion combos!
This card is the only tuner of the time of first writing this, but even so it is the only centurion starter that is a tuner! That means that if this card is negated on its search it could be game over if you do not combo with other extenders you drew! This typically searches Loading... and most often searches Loading... when normal summoned
Centurion Trudea
This card is one of the strongest combo pieces as a starter or early game extender.
Usually this card getting negated or destroyed without an extender means its game over. This card has placed important pieces in the backrow to special summon to start off combo. The tuners are usually what we choose to place. Specifically Loading...
Stand Up Centurion
Our second most powerful card. Provides a free from deck placing of any level 4 or 8 centurion, allowing for it to be useful in even XYZ decks.
This card allows you to place and then special summon level 4 or 8 bodies from the deck playing around interruptions like Loading...
and Loading...
. This includes special summoning both starters and extenders
making this a one card combo if you have another card in hand.
Emblema Oath
The Strongest maindeck card in centurion
This card allows you to play through Loading...
by placing a monster with centurion in its name in the backrow and allows you to set any centurion spell
/trap
from deck making it one of the highest utility cards and in most cases a better draw than Loading...
as it not only searches it but sets it from deck!
Extenders
Centurion Gargoyle
This is perhaps the most used lvl 8 centurion monster for all versions of centurion
One of the most used second monsters for a synchro summon as well! It has the strength of being able to summon itself up to two times first by being placed in the backrow, and second by sending a centurion card you control to the grave
This allows for plays like:
- making Loading...
- Having discard fodder
- Not bricking
Centurion Emeth
The lesser used level 8 overshadowed by a Loading... , but with very fascinating appilcation
Why would I wanna use Loading... if Gargoyle looks better as a second monster for synchro summoning?
There are many reasons to use emeth over gargoyle BUT it is still worse turn 1 and the lesser used monster
- It has targeting protection for your monsters in some cases
- Loading... Can send it to the grave from the deck, making it live!
- It allows you to have infinite resources
- It allows you to play Loading... and not mess up one card combos
It is reccomnded to only play emeth in the pure version of the deck, or if playing Loading...
Wake Up Centurion
This card is very strong, allowing you to send cards like Loading... to the grave from the deck.
This allows you to make even bigger combos. It also doubles as a second body. This is an archetypal foolish burial for spells and traps too! It also allows plays under shifter!
Credit
Centurion Bonds
A controversial card, but a powerful extender. The community doesn't know if this card should or should not be played
Bonds as a card is a strong extender and allows special summoning of a centurion card from hand. It also enables playing when your boss monster is negated or destroyed by cards like Loading... and Loading...
This card is controversial because it is played at 1 copy and if it is not opened a valuable search is usually used to search bonds. Loading... sends this card to the graveyard but that faces issues as being resource ineffective, requiring cards to synchro more than once per turn to have full value.
Post Support Extenders:
Centur-Ion Atrii
Its just a simple tuner... why do we need it?
Searchable tuners are what the deck is specifically missing, it can also synchro by being special summoned off of bonds with {Centur-Ion Primera P
Centur-Ion Primera Primus
Enables itself to be summoned
from the grave with cards like Loading...
and Loading...
and adds Loading...
for Synchro plays and better turn 1, Loading...
for interruption when opening oath, or just as a body
for link plays or battle phase
Interruption
Centurion Phalanx
The most played interruption in centurion, almost every version plays this card.
This card can banish an opponents monster until the end phase where it is special summoned
. This means that the special summoned monster
will activate effects from that. Some monsters also cannot be special summoned again like making this a permanent removal in some cases. It can also be used to dodge targeting effects
or just leave the field
for your monsters.
Since centurion monster activate on special, this can also be used as a resource
Centurion True Awakening
A counter trap omni negate? Count me in!
Sadly this card is not as strong as it first appears. First it needs to send a card from the spell and trap zone to be live, second it has no gy effect
which Loading...
does. Also its a simple destruction, so some cards will not leave field if they do they will enter the grave where they will gain additional effects.
However! This card is not useless
In going second based metas
this card is incredibly useful as it is one of the few cards that can negate Loading...
. This means this card will have a place as metas adapt, and the cost can be overcome with cards like Loading...
and Loading...
. Even Loading...
Post Support Interruption
Emblema Salvation
A second search off of Primus
Sometimes a single Loading... is opened making Primus useless.
Bosses
Centurion Auxila
The first boss you'll probably summon per duel
This boss searches
any archetypal card for this deck. It also prevents your face up spells and traps from being destroyed usually searching the traps for interruption, sometimes bridging archetypes by adding the field spell.
This card also recycles your banished
monsters
Centurion Legatia
Need a way to draw nonengine? Need an interruption? Legatia does both!
This card has draw power and allows you to destroy an opponents monster making it a solid choice for going second. A lot of people love this card so much they play more than one copy! It can recycle
bricked centurion cards in hand
or ones in grave
. With each turn the deck has less centurion cards, so drawing is more likely to add non engine
Post Crimson Bosses
These are the bosses that pack the real power going first.
Crimson Dragon
Target a synchro and get out a boss from your extra deck!
This is self explanatory reading the description. It also however functions as an interruption
if it is used in response to an interruption and you get a card out with protection.
For example if my opponent is gonna trigger an effect to destroy a card I have, I can chain Loading... to Loading...
This will summon Loading... from the extra deck nullifying destruction
Red Supernova Dragon
Wins the game IF it resolves
This card is hard to resolve against a skilled player but banishing their entire field is usually a game ending play
Cosmic Blazar Dragon
The centerpiece of boss monsters
This card can negate
a variety of actions
you opponent does and its ability to skip your opponents battle
is very useful in many situations. This card banishes and returns itself as cost meaning special summon restrictions and summoning do not function when returning. It banishes as cost meaning if it is negated during its revival it will come back normal.
This card also has infinite negates during the end phase
Stardust Sifr Dragon
Just a monster negate? The other effects do not seem strong enough to make up for it.
Sifr has value
This card is not only a budget choice, but while cards like blazar have 1 single interruption
, but Sifr has up to 3
!
- Being summoned by Loading... in response to a destruction effect
- Negating monster effects
- Destroying a different card
Shooting Quasar and Shooting Star Dragon
Usually worse than its other parts, Quasar is an omni negate for when boardbreakers are prevalent.
The maximum value from this boss is when going second
decks exist. This needs to be played with Loading...
and Loading...
due to one floating into the other if it leaves the field in any way
Quasar provides an omni negate and fodder for cards like Loading...
and Loading...
Provides a body to be used to negate attacks, destruction, and be a target for level 10 bosses for Loading...
Janky Level 12 Bosses
Some lists will use these, but its usually not reccomended to ever play these
Despian Luluwalilith (Not recommended)
A generic negate, and a resource generator
Although its a weaker card it is a negate that is an option for cases when cards like Loading... are banished from the extra deck. It also specials summons Loading... from the main deck in the end of a turn when its summoned
Geomathmech Final Sigma (NOT recommended)
An end closer for lethal damage, but a weak card overall
Being unaffected by card effects allows this card to cause lethal damage to an opponent while not being concerned about the opponent's pieces. It also saves space from playing cards like Loading...
Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo (Not Recommended)
Draw 3 cards under a few conditions
Not reccomended for play, but it can work due to high HT numbers in centurion Because people will play Legatia to draw into their non engine, Masuwaro sometimes fits this purpose but better since it draws up to 3 depending on how little cards you have in your hand. Practically you usually will end up with a few cards in hand so you will almost never get a +3 or even +2, usually making it worse
Level Eleven and Lower Bosses
Note:
Only playable with bystials or Loading...
+ Loading...
or the Loading...
+ Loading...
Package
Barone De Fleur
A generic Omni negate
Provides a lot of utility and a solid level 10 omni negate and destroy. Cannot be cheated out of the extra deck since it is warrior
Bystial Dis Pater
An easy to summon crimson target that is an excellent extender and recycler for non pure variants of Centur-Ion
Recycles facedown cards as well, and follow-up is exceptional on later turns.
Chaos Angel
One of our best level 10s
This card can stall out games for eternity against some decks, banishes cards, and can be made immune to monster effects. So waiting on this while making an arsenal of bosses wins.
Majestic Star Dragon
An incredibly strong crimson target with serious drawbacks
This card has one of the most broken effects in yugioh for a negating boss. It can negate a card and destroy all your opponent controls. This is incredibly strong, and if summoned on your turn it can copy an enemy monsters effect and still keep its effect, letting you choose what to do.
The drawbacks are serious: It can only be summoned with crimson dragon, it returns to the extra deck during the endphase, and it is tributed after use, making it a summon on the enemy turn that dies to called by the grave
Note* If you have Loading... under grave, it revives while Majestic shuffled itself
Satellite Warrior (Turn 0 Builds only)
For turn 0 board breaking
This card isn't used much except for making turn 0 plays and destroying the enemy board using cards like Loading... and Loading... with other turn 0 quick effect tuners to summon this on opponent's turn.
Chaos Archfiend
A strong but rarely summoned card
This card clears every single monster your opponent controls in one battle phase, banishing them so its an effective clear tool. It doesn't see much opportunity to be summoned
Draco Berserker of the Tenyi
A chaos archfiend with more mixed capabilties
Although this does not banish when monsters are destroyed by battle it still can attack multiple times, and it has interruption by banishing opponent monsters turn 1.
Accel Synchro Stardust Dragon
For more level 10 synchro plays
When using gamma this card allows for more consistent level 10 access. Other common level 2 tuners include
Stardust Dragon
Enables turn 0 plays
The second effect of Loading... allows this card to be special summoned out of the extra deck for a quick effect synchro of an unaffected monster and plays through Loading...
Enigmaster Packbit (Not Recommended)
A not strong card, but one with uses
Acts as an Loading... target, and allows for greater plays with Loading... if you have a boss in the spell and trap zone
Non Synchro Bosses
These can be played in almost any Centurion deck!
S:P Little Knight
A strong choice in almost any situation
The applications of this card are endless, but its a strong addition to this deck, with all of its use
I:P Masquerena
enables more disruption
Allows to link into Loading... on enemy turn for a banish
Allows to link into Loading... with monsters from your backrow
Allows to link into Loading... on enemy turn with monsters from your backrow
Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden
for an extra SP banish
Allows second banish from SP
Salamangreat Almiraj
for an extra SP banish with different cards
Artemis (above) has Loading... as material, while Loading... uses everything else
Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess
Another application for IP Masq
Using special summoned spell and trap monsters its a powerful negate, another tool
Underworld Goddess of the Closed World
AND ANOTHER APPLICATION FOR I:P Masquerena
Allows you to out troublesome towers and negate opponent monsters
Bagooska
A floodgate for stalling time
Although this card does lose to things like imperm and links it has its value, and paired with handtraps it can have use. It enables board wipe with sky thunder as well
Zeus - Sky Thunder (Not Suggested)
A going second option, but a wasteful and situation one
A boardwipe that can be hardmade or played with a large XYZ package
Double Wipe Zeus Package:
Galaxy Eyes Photon Lord/ Hope Titanic Galaxy >> Full Armor Photon >> Sky Thunder
Allows a 4 material wipe only
Besides full armor only another 8 is needed not all of them
As explained a rank 8 spell or monster negate XYZ goes into full armor into sky thunder for a double board wipe
Single use package Dingirsu >> Zeus
To save an extra deck slot
Despite a single wipe there are turn 2 breaking abilities since Orcust sends one card in addition to the wipe
Another thing is the ability to protect destruction is useful
Horus Package
Not all of these are needed, but each one has interesting purpose
Number 90
: Negates a monster effect offering moderate interruption and insulating
Hope Harbinger
: Provides a spell negate for poor protection but excellent offense, allowing for a 4+ material board wipe if playing the above 4 material package
Hieratic
: Excellent Protection, with little offensive ability
Vampire
: Poor offense and defense, but specials a free body providing deck knowledge
Accesscode Talker Package
An effective endgame when summoned, but cluttery and wasteful
This package doesn't need all of the links shown, but is still useful for link climbing nonetheless. The package is pretty self explanatory with the charmers adding extra material, and the link 3 adding extra attack and slight board clear
Starslayer Ty-Phon
An excellent board breaker at a low resource cost
The ability for this card to break boards when combined with interruption
is always strong. The inability to special summon
will turn some people off but the amount of follow up is sufficient a lot of time
