Introduction

Welcome to Reichphobia!

Scareclaw is a Link-based deck with a straightforward gameplan that was first introduced in Battle Trajectory and has recived a solid amount of direct and indirect support since.

The deck aims to summon Scareclaw Tri-Heart to scare the opponent's monsters and control the flow of the duel with it, to end up in a powerful OTK using the different effects of its monsters. While preparing different interactions like level 10 - 9 synchros, link monsters, spell/traps etc...

The power of the deck really depends in what is meta at the moment but most of the time is a very solid rougue option that can reach high ranks.

Now the deck is easier to build thanks to the secret pack Beastly Claws of Terror. So is a good oportunity to give it a try!

Main Deck Monsters

Thanks to Scareclaw Light-Heart all your main deck Scareclaw monsters except Scareclaw Kashtira are both one card starters, and extenders. This gives the deck a lot of consistency to get your combos going.

All the Scareclaw Main Deck monsters except Scareclaw Kashtira share one effect, the ability to special summon themselves from the hand to an adjacent zone of that of a Scareclaw monster. This plays into the thematic that they are a pack and are stronger together

Scareclaw Reichheart x3

The king of Reichphobia himself!

Reichheart is the most important monster of your main deck. Like the other Scareclaws he can summon himself to a zone adjacent to a Scareclaw monster. Reichheart can search a Scareclaw spell or trap when its summoned, the spells and traps of the archetype can be extenders, end board pieces or protection, that makes Reichheart search very versatile, letting you search for whatever the situation calls for.

Also, if there are 3 or more defense position monsters on the field after searching he can draw you one card. Reichheart is your most important search so if you have it in your opening hand try to use it as an extender rather that a starter to bait your opponent handtraps and then play him (also is good to play around his extra draw so summon the monsters you are gonna use for link or synchro summoning in defense position before playing him).

Scareclaw Astra x3

A good bite should be fast.

Representing the fear of thunder and lightning we have Scareclaw Astra. Like the other Scareclaws it can summon itself to a zone adjacent to a Scareclaw monster. Its the most important of the level 3 monsters, because it can give your Scareclaw Link monster in the EMZ the effect to attack as many times as Scareclaw monsters in defense position with different names you control. This is will let you OTK very easily with Scareclaw Tri-Heart in a lot of situations.

Do you really need 3 copies of Tri-Heart?

Is not 100% needed but after a lot of games I think is good to have the third copy so you can get more chances of winning if the game drags out or if you want to abuse it's soft one per turn. Still, in the mayority of games you will ony need 1 or 2 so running 2 copies is a viable option.

You can get away with 2 Light and 2 Tri.

Thanks a lot! I love this deck. The weakest Archetype of the Visas lore, but also the least hit XD

You win some you lose some haha. Glad that you liked the guide!

The weakest is Mannadium. Its boss monster sees no play and it's relevant only because of the existence of Scareclaw.

Haha yeah Baronne/Dis Pater/counter trap is soo much weaker than Tri Heart pass

Very good detailed guide, as a player that won to MW with the deck this is pretty concise as understandable. Good job.

Been playing this deck for about a year and it's the only one I hit master 1 with. But that was before the fire nation invaded..... reconsider your opinion of Scareclaw Decline it's a great turn 3 card that does the following

  1. It allows you to reuse Primitive Planet, with having to summon a new lightheart.
  2. It needs to be stopped twice.
  3. Allows different deck building options all of your 3 of spells can go to 2 offs.

The Kashtira variant was the best one, even if Adventure was the most fun ....r.i.p Unicorn, Fenrir

I tried Decline and didn't get good results with It so It could always have been bad luck. Honestly, recalling some TCG matches that usually can be slower I can see how the card can come in clutch. I will try to give It a second chance in Master Duel these days and see how It works, at least I could be a little less harsh with the card in It's analysis.

As a Scareclaw enjoyer, great write up. One thing of note, in the Codebreaker package, can you also as V-Lan Hydra? It helps facilitate going into Terahertz, I:P or Knightmare Griffin.

Someone also told me this on Discord! When I update the guide I will add It along with A Hero Lives engine and a combo example. Still, thanks for the advice!

My favorite this part about Scareclaw is that the main boss, Tri-Heart, is basically Bagooska at home. On a more serious note, the deck is very competent, Hardleg got to Master 1 with it rather easily compared to other rogue decks.

The Bagooska thing It's honestly really funny haha. I think that thanks to the core design of the deck It will be a good rogue for a good amount of time, specially if the meta favors It.

1 of most expensive but rogue Visas lore deck. Even if you create new account, it's nearly impossible to make this deck at full power. I mean most of them are URs not including the staples and engine(s).

Yeah It's quite expensive. At least the new pack can help a bit with that.

I have been playing Scareclaw for a while and I must say Gossip shadow is a good negate body when you open spare Scareclaws

Kashtira scareclaw deck is the best in fact the sample of deck provide is almost identical to one i used to it. Your can end up a double floodgate from arise heart and tri - heart which ridiculous hard to deal with if opponent did not boardbreaker like raigeki and dark hole to out the board

Good guide, but i feel like A hero lives + Prisma or Formud Skipper + One for One deserve to be mentionned. Same with the Exodia build, to FTK with a 1 card combo. Keep up the good work still !

Is possible to use rescue cat in this deck?

1 ↑
Discord Avatar
[-]

Is possible, I commented it in the guide. The problem is that if it gets negated you won't have Scareclaws in the field or GY so it would be very hard for the deck to extend from there, so is not a very good choice in a deck centered around Scareclaw.

I see Kashtira carrying this one out, for most builds

Kashtira is really useful specially to punish the handtraps that hurt the deck , bait negates and get good end board interruptions. But the deck can still stand Its ground by itself! In fact the Kashtira build is my less played version of the deck.

I still see people wasting ash on fenrir, its kind of sad.

most good decks only need some handtraps to help them win, this one required many handtraps and an extra engine like adventure or Kashtira, I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I just like to see things as they are, I don't want to think the deck is good on it's own, play it and realize things later

This is a really dumb😭 but, the one you said you won with, was it the handtrap package of blind second one?😭
