Overview

Rescue-ACE is an archetype with a unique strategy of setting up powerful interactions in the form of spell and trap cards, directly from the deck via Loading... 's effect. The monster cards in the archetype feature cool futuristic firefighters and mecha-inspired vehicles due to Rescue-ACE being named after firefighter safety procedures: Loading... , Loading... , Loading... and Loading... .

This theme's monsters are all FIRE; either low Level Warriors, the ones doing the rescuing; or high Level Machines, the vehicles they drive. There's also a Level 1 Machine, which you'll be seeing a lot of.

Fire department lineup (Monsters)

Rescue-ACE Hydrant
Rescue-ACE Hydrant

What's a fire without its mortal enemy, the Hydrant – which for some odd reason is a FIRE monster? Since you know it extinguishes … nevermind moving on …

Rescue-ACE Hydrant is the lynchpin of the strategy. Not only does it search monsters, but it enhances all of your spells and traps! Hydrant itself lets you activate one of your quick-play spells or traps on the same turn they're set via a Rescue-ACE card. More than that, most of the Rescue-ACE spells and traps get added utility while you control a Hydrant. You'll want to try and wait to play Hydrant until you have another Rescue-ACE in play, to make sure its protective effect is online to avoid anything like an Loading... .

Running 2-3 copies of Loading... is mandatory.

Rescue-ACE Air Lifter
Rescue-ACE Air Lifter

The searcher of this rescue team! Rescue-ACE Air Lifter swoops in and grabs a spell from the deck, and can later call for backup an ally from the hand when an opponent's monster activates an effect!

Running 3 copies of Loading... is mandatory.

Rescue-ACE Impulse
Rescue-ACE Impulse

Rescue-ACE Impulse is a special member of this team, as he can turn off some really annoying monster’s effects during your main phase, but it does apply to both players, so be wary! And when a monster effect is activated by your opponent, he can summon a MACHINE Rescue-ACE from the deck.

Running 2-3 copies of Loading... is highly recommended.

Rescue-ACE Turbulence
Rescue-ACE Turbulence

The captain of the rescue team, Turbulence. With the powerful ability to set 4 Rescue-ACE spells/traps (bypasses Loading... AND Loading... ), as well as being able to destroy a card on the field if another card(s) you control leaves the field by an opponent's card effect!

Only 1-2x copies are needed, mostly dependent on format and decklist.

Rescue-ACE Preventer
Rescue-ACE Preventer

Similar to Loading... , you can special summon Loading... by banishing any Rescue-ACE card from your graveyard. While you've got another Rescue-ACE monster, Preventer has a quick effect to flip an opponent's monster face-down! You're looking to have Hydrant in play at most times, and Loading... and Loading... also special summon themselves if you play Preventer, so it's very easy to have this effect active.

Preventer has another effect too, which takes it from good to great. If it is sent to the graveyard (from anywhere, by any means!) you can special summon one of your banished Rescue-ACE monsters! The only restriction is that it can't get a Level 8, but at this time, Preventer itself is the only Level 8 Rescue-ACE. At base level, that effect lets you special summon a monster you banished to special summon Preventer or Turbulence, which is great.

With Preventer you're getting both disruption and an extender. You can leave it on the field backed by a Turbulence-loaded back row, using the quick effect to block opposing plays or you can play Preventer, maybe flip something face-down, then immediately use it for a link summon, getting a banished monster so you can continue to link climb. It's even got great 2800/2800 stats if you need to start swinging.

Running 2-3 copies of Loading... is highly recommended.

Rescue-ACE Fire Engine
Rescue-ACE Fire Engine

FIRETRUCK MECHS! Who doesn’t like them, right? Rescue-ACE Fire Engine can special summon itself from the hand when you summon any other Rescue-ACE monster, and can special summon another name from hand, deck or GY (Level 4 or lower "Rescue-ACE" monster) - If a monster(s) is special summoned to your opponent's field! It is one of the best ways to bring out some helping hands.

Only 1 copy is advised, mostly dependent on format and decklist.

Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker
Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker

With a similar effect to Loading... to special summon itself, it can draw you 2 cards if your opponent adds any card from deck to hand, but afterwards you discard 1 as well! This allows you to draw into starters, combo pieces or handtraps.

Only 1 copy is advised, mostly dependent on format and decklist.

Rescue-ACE Monitor
Rescue-ACE Monitor

The last monster of the Rescue-ACE crew, he can search a trap on summon, and can later reborn a R-ACE member from the GY!

Usually on reserve – so you don’t run any copies at the moment.

Rescue Protocols (Spells/Traps)

Rescue-ACE HQ
Rescue-ACE HQ

The primary base of operations! Gives you a free extra normal summon and can recycle your used spells/traps or monsters stuck in the banish zone.

Running at least 1 copy in the deck is mandatory.

EMERGENCY!
EMERGENCY!

This is the other new card from Duelist Nexus. Look familiar? EMERGENCY! is basically an on-theme Loading... - the names are even similar! You can search it with Loading... or set it with Loading... , and more importantly, it can summon Turbulence, or Loading... or any other Rescue-ACE. Yes, it requires you to tribute a monster as part of the resolution, but you can use the Air Lifter you normal summoned or a Preventer to get back another card.

That effect alone would make Loading... an auto-include, but it still has more! You can banish it from your graveyard to set one Rescue-ACE trap from your graveyard. Like most of your cards, this is obviously better with Hydrant: you can use a trap, then EMERGENCY! it back to the field, then use it again immediately. This aspect of EMERGENCY! is also nice if you discarded a trap with Fire Attacker early on.

Running 3 copies of Loading... is mandatory.

RESCUE!
RESCUE!

RESCUE allows you to reborn a R-ACE monster from your graveyard, or can allow you to summon any monster from your opponents GY – if you control Loading... (a common theme with the spells/traps)!

Running at least 1 copy in the deck is mandatory.

ALERT!
ALERT!

A premier recursion card that brings back a R-ACE monster from the GY to your hand, or if you control Loading... , can add ANY R-ACE monster from deck to hand!

Running at least 1 copy in the deck is mandatory.

CONTAIN!
CONTAIN!

An absolute blowout! This card targets a monster and negates their effects AND prevents it from attacking, then if you control Loading... , it can’t be used as material for Extra Deck summons! Talk about a containment unit!

Running at least 1 copy in the deck is mandatory.

EXTINGUISH!
EXTINGUISH!

This card is our removal trap, but of course if you have our powerful little Loading... on field, they can’t activate that monster's effects or any cards with the same name! (This does include floating effects).

Running at least 1 copy in the deck is mandatory.

REINFORCE!
REINFORCE!

And the final trap, is a way to completely bolster one of your allies to insane proportions! Then you can later use its second effect to reset a used R-ACE spell/trap. You can use both effects in the same turn by the way! So keep those cards going!

Running 1 copy of Loading... is optional.

Search Team

One for One
One for One

One for One is just for Loading... , and it's very much worth it – just a small cost of discarding a monster to get to one of your KEY pieces.

Running 1 copy of the limited to 1 Loading... is optional.

Reinforcement of the Army
Reinforcement of the Army

Reinforcement of the Army searches for Loading... to get things going, or can grab Loading... if you're so inclined.

Running 1 copy of the limited to 1 Loading... is highly recommended.

Pot of Prosperity
Pot of Prosperity

You don't have a tight extra deck space, so you can freely banish 6 to dig for a missing card with Pot of Prosperity.

Running 1 copy of the limited to 1 Loading... is highly recommended.

Sinful Spoils/Diabellstar Engine

Diabellstar the Black Witch
Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye
WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils
Sinful Spoils of Subversion - Snake-Eye

The Diabellstar engine, anchored by the Level 7 DARK Spellcaster, Loading... , has powered up many decks both meta and rogue alike in the TCG/OCG and it’s time to do the same in Master Duel.

It revolves around a few key cards that work in tandem to provide strategic advantages; including fetching out combo pieces from your deck, setting up your graveyard, and helping you build a board with powerful Extra Deck monsters.

Because this engine comprises just five to seven cards, it is easily splashable in any decks that incorporate Level 1 FIRE monsters in their strategies, such as Rescue-ACE.

Diabellstar the Black Witch
Diabellstar the Black Witch

The namesake of the Diabellstar engine. Its effect to easily special summon itself coupled with setting a Sinful Spoils spell directly from the deck is what enables the entire engine to work.

Generally, one copy is sufficient due to its searchability, but you can also run 2 if you want.

WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils
WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils

This quick-play spell is what you’ll use to search out Loading... . It can give you a free draw by recycling other Sinful Spoils from the graveyard or banished cards back to the deck.

Recommended to run three copies for consistency.

Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye
Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye

This spell is the main reason you’re playing the Diabellstar engine, letting you special summon a level 1 FIRE monster from the hand or deck - so take a wild guess which level 1 are we referring to here. It’s the priority target for Diabellstar’s "search to set" effect or Poplar’s search effect.

Generally, one copy is sufficient due to its searchability.

Sinful Spoils of Subversion - Snake-Eye
Sinful Spoils of Subversion - Snake-Eye

This spell is mainly a side deck option or just a good way to bait out negates or deal with some pesky monsters. It’s the secondary target for Diabellstar’s "search to set" effect or Poplar’s search effect.

Generally, one copy is sufficient due to its searchability.

Snake-Eyes Poplar w/ Bonfire

Snake-Eyes Poplar
Snake-Eyes Poplar

Loading... is the another consistency boost the deck got via the addition of Bonfire. Poplar gets your "Snake-Eye" spells and traps, meaning it can search Loading... to get things going. To make things better, if Poplar is added from your deck to your hand by anything other than drawing it, you can special summon it immediately! This works best with Loading... .

Recommended to run two copies for consistency, but some versions can get away with just one.

Bonfire
Bonfire

Essentially a Pyro Loading... that gets you Loading... enabling, at the very least, 2 free bodies without committing to your normal summon.

Recommended to run three copies for consistency.

Other Snake-Eye cards

All but Loading... are Level 1 Pyro-types, and they all help summon more Snake-Eyes and/or get more Snake-Eye cards in your hand. This helps them pay for their other effects as well as the costs to play Diabellstar and the Sinful Spoils cards. Basically, they're all good at gaining card advantage so they funnel that advantage into more summons.

Snake-Eye Ash
Snake-Eye Ash

Loading... searches any Level 1 Fire monster from your deck to your hand whenever it's normal or special summoned. You'll typically get Loading... , but you can also fetch the rest of your Snake-Eyes if you need them. This isn't restricted to Snake-Eye monsters either, meaning you can search for Loading... at a moment's notice too.

Generally, 2-3x copies are needed, mostly dependent on format and decklist – if you decide to play this version of the deck.

Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon
Snake-Eyes Flamberge Dragon

Flamberge's first effect allows you to take any monster on the field or in the graveyard and put it in its owner's back row as a continuous spell.

Next, Loading... has a quick effect that works any time during your opponent's turn. You can target any monster card that's currently a continuous spell and special summon it! This can of course steal your opponent's monsters, taking their best cards to use against them. You can also special summon your own cards this way, so get creative with Flamberge's first effect or Loading... !

Finally, if it's sent from the field or the hand to the grave, you can special summon two Level 1 Fire monsters from your graveyard. This way, for example, you can special summon Loading... to make your spells and traps gain additional effects and special summon Poplar or Loading... for an additional search!

Generally, one copy is sufficient due to its searchability.

BONUS: Superheavy Samurai/Rank 4 Engine

Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi
Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei
Superheavy Samurai Motorbike
Infernal Flame Banshee
Battlin' Boxer King Dempsey

Ok, hear me out on this one - it's a bit of a stretch, I know - but this engine actually can work well with this deck (provided that you either go 50+ cards or forget that handtraps exist). What this essentially brings to the table is the ability to add/search any Pyro or Fire Warrior via Loading... and Loading... , or you can just use it to get into cards like Loading... or Loading... .

Extra Deck „Engines“

Linkuriboh
Relinquished Anima
Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze
Dharc the Dark Charmer, Gloomy
I:P Masquerena
Knightmare Phoenix
Knightmare Unicorn
Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames
Selene, Queen of the Master Magicians
Accesscode Talker
Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess
Amphibious Swarmship Amblowhale
Worldsea Dragon Zealantis

The entire Extra Deck is essentially a toolbox, hence why we’ll be focusing on only 1 card, and that is Loading... .

You can link summon Promethean Princess, Bestower of Flames using any 2+ effect monsters, but beware that you can't special summon anything but FIRE monsters while you control the Princess. The benefits are worth it, as this Princess has two potent effects. Its ignition effect lets you special summon any FIRE monster from your graveyard – no strings attached!

While Promethean Princess is in your graveyard, if your opponent special summons a monster, you can destroy one FIRE monster you control and one monster your opponent controls – an if that monster was Loading... – you’ll also have an additional disruption.

If that succeeds, you'll special summon Promethean Princess from the graveyard. With Promethean Princess's two effects you can easily link climb and leave a unique and difficult to stop piece of interaction in your graveyard!

Auroradon Synchro Engine
Jet Synchron
Mecha Phantom Beast O-Lion
Mecha Phantom Beast Auroradon
Baronne de Fleur
Herald of the Arc Light
F.A. Dawn Dragster
Borreload Savage Dragon
Accel Synchron

Since we're running main-deck machine monsters, it's not that difficult to get to Loading... . This version does run 2-3 bricks in the main deck, but the payoff is big enough to consider them.

Handtraps, Board Breakers & Other Staple Cards

Maxx "C"
Maxx "C"

This powerful handtrap can severely limit your opponent's plays.

Running 3 copies of Loading... is mandatory.

Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring
Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring

This versatile handtrap is useful against most decks, since it can prevent searches or special summons from the deck. In addition, it can negate your opponent's Loading... . Everything that is mentioned about Loading... applies here as well.

Running 3 copies of Loading... is mandatory.

Kashtira Fenrir
Kashtira Fenrir

I think most of us know by now how this card works, but just for the sake of new players, let me explain a bit - It keeps the board state in check by getting rid of an important boss monster or a combo piece or a nasty face-up spell/trap like a floodgate. A strong card going 1st or 2nd. It also serves as a nice bait, so you can resolve your important effects.

Running 1 copy of the limited to 1 Loading... is optional.

Kurikara Divincarnate
Kurikara Divincarnate

Kurikara Divincarnate doesn't quite count as Rescue-ACE support, but it’s better than usual in this deck. Since it’s a Fire monster, you can use Small World to search her, or alternatively pitch her in a Small World line when she’s not needed. You can also return her to your hand with Loading... .

Running 1 copy of Loading... is optional.

Therion "King" Regulus
Therion "King" Regulus

Therion "King" Regulus gets a special shoutout for having a funny interaction in this deck. If you Special Summon Regulus and equip a Loading... from your graveyard, your Rescue-ACE spells and traps will still recognize the Hydrant in play for their bonus effects!

Running 1 copy of Loading... is optional.

Enemy Controller
Enemy Controller

Targeted interruption is really popular right now - with a lot of decks all ending on it. Dodging that while getting value and breaking their board is pretty good, also taking control of the opponent’s key card while getting to resolve your Rescue-ACE monster’s effect is incredibly strong. They are forced to out it themselves, or lose to their own card.

Running 2-3 copies of Loading... is optional.

Called by the Grave
Called by the Grave

This card can help you deal with your opponent's handtraps, including Loading... .

Running 2 copies of Loading... is highly recommended.

Crossout Designator
Crossout Designator

Similar to Loading... , this card can help you deal with your opponent's handtraps. If you want to get spicy, you can even use Crossout Designator in the mirror match, negating your opponent's card and then playing that same card you banished thanks to Loading... .

Forbidden Droplet
Forbidden Droplet

Loading... is a very powerful negate that can help you play through established boards on turn 2, or simply negate the effects of your opponent's monsters. This synergizes well with the Deck since it can help send resources from your hand to the graveyard, while you disable your opponent. Since this is a quick effect you can even chain this card to the activation of one of your own spell or trap cards before they leave your spell/trap zone, and use said activated card as part of the cost for Forbidden Droplet. Very powerful if we have cards in hand that we want to get to the graveyard, but can be awkward if we have cards that we want to use for other purposes.

Triple Tactics Talent
Triple Tactics Talent

Loading... (or TTT for short) is always live! You can always expect your opponent to use a monster handtrap, or monster effect, if available. While some players may blind Loading... in the Standby Phase, most uses of monster effects occur in the Main Phase, and if it does you can activate TTT after. This card can be activated even if said effect is negated by a card such as Loading... , as it is still considered activated even though its effect has been negated. You will most commonly use this card to draw 2 cards, but you can easily also choose to steal a monster from your opponent’s board for damage, or Link material, or gain information by reading into their hand and sending a card back into their Deck such as future disruption or a vital starter they may need (this option comes up more often than you might think).

Super Polymerization
Super Polymerization

Since we have loads of extra deck space, we can afford to run Super Polymerization and its targets, especially with Loading... in the mix. Also keep in mind, even though it’s spell speed 4, it can’t resolve unless you can send a card to the GY.

Book of Eclipse
Book of Eclipse

Book of Eclipse is mainly for the Kashtira matchup with its full support but it’s still powerful vs other decks, but keep in mind it can be negated with Loading... . There’s also alternatives but not as good as this one (example Loading... ).

Infinite Impermanence
Infinite Impermanence

This handtrap is similar to Loading... . Unlike Effect Veiler, however, this card can be activated outside of your opponent's Main Phase. Also, it doesn’t play into Loading... unlike other handtraps.

Evenly Matched
Evenly Matched

This is an insanely powerful board breaker that allows you to banish almost all cards your opponent controls face down by paying a small price of sacrificing your Battle Phase – keep in mind you MUST control NO cards to activate it from your hand and the opponent will still have 1 card on field left (which is usually their best one).

Other Handtraps
Effect Veiler
Droll & Lock Bird
D.D. Crow
Dimension Shifter
Nibiru, the Primal Being
Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit
Ghost Mourner & Moonlit Chill
Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion
PSY-Framegear Gamma
PSY-Frame Driver
Artifact Lancea
Skull Meister
Token Collector

These other handtraps can be useful in certain scenarios, depending on the format.

Backrow Removal
Harpie's Feather Duster
Lightning Storm
Cosmic Cyclone
Twin Twisters
Red Reboot

These cards can help you deal with backrow-heavy decks.

NEW Combo #1 - Loading... – 1-card line

NOTE: You can summon Loading... under Loading... to trigger its effect to return Loading... or an used Loading... that negated a Loading... turn 1.

Bonus Combo Guide - Sinful Spoils/Diabellstar Engine

  1. During the Draw Phase, activate your Loading... to add Loading... from your deck or graveyard to your hand. Thanks to it being a quick-play spell, you’re able to circumvent Loading... , a popular hand trap that can only be played during the Main Phase.
  2. During your Main Phase, special summon Loading... by sending one card from your hand or field to the graveyard. Upon being summoned, activate its effect to set Loading... from your deck.
  3. Activate Loading... by sending one face-up card you control to the graveyard. Then special summon Loading... from your hand or deck.
  4. After step three, you’ll be able to activate the effect of Loading... in your graveyard to return Loading... to the bottom of your deck, to draw a card.

A word from the author

Hello, I'm Sofke. I'm a deck helper in the Master Duel Meta Discord server, a Yu-Gi-Oh! veteran with 18 years of experience and the MCS II Invitational (2023) champion. I'm currently playing Rescue-ACE IRL, since my favourite deck got guillotined – which is Mathmech. If you have any questions or suggestions about improving this guide, feel free to reach out to me in the Discord channel (#rescue-ace)!

I also want to say a big thank you to

, and , who provided feedback while I was creating and revising this guide.
