How to Play Team Battle
You can create a team by selecting the "Duel Menu" button to the bottom right of this notice, or by selecting "Team Battle" in the Duel Menu accessed via DUEL on the Home screen.
Select the Number of Players in Match, Regulation (Standard only or a mixture of Standard, Link, Xyz, Fusion and Synchro), and Team Name, then click the "Create Team" button to create a team.
You can invite friends by selecting "Invite Friends" on the Team Battle screen.
Alternatively, you can invite members by sharing your "Team ID" which can be found in your Team Information. You can also recruit teammates from "Recruit Teammates" if you do not have enough people to form a team.
How to Join a Team
You can join a team by selecting the "Duel Menu" button to the bottom right of this notice, or by selecting "Team Battle" in the Duel Menu accessed via DUEL on the Home screen.
Press the "Join Team" button to join a team.
If you have been given a Team ID by the team creator, you can enter it as a team member.
Alternatively, you can join a team by specifying the Players in Match and Regulation for which you wish to play.
Matchmaking
Once the Team Creator presses the "Duel" button another Team is automatically found for you to face off against. There is currently no way to match against a specific Team.
Each Duel takes place at the same time, and the winner of the overall Team Battle is decided by whichever Team has the most victories after their Best of 1 Duel. If playing in the mixed-Regulation mode, you will be paired up against the player assigned to the same Regulation as you (Fusion vs Fusion, Link vs Link etc).
After completing your Duel (or Surrendering) you can Spectate your other Teammates' Duels and wait around to rejoin the same Team, or leave the current Team entirely and join a new Team.
