I understand that it's week 1 and that people are still getting used to the new cards but like how do you misplay tenpai?

There were so many times the tenpai players could've won but they keep throwing. This also happened in the finals so many times and lab and yubel aren't even new decks.

For those looking to copy tenpai builds from here, don't. Board breaker tenpai is bad and makes it so you have no other plays than seals when you are forced to go first. Just netdeck some OCG or TCG lists, those are much better.

Also don't play shifter if you are running a ton of handtraps and breakers that need the GY. Ogre and Veiler and Droplet all need to send to the GY as cost. You are turning those off if you use shifter so at that point why not play other handtraps that don't actively ***** you over?

I know what you mean but please dude you have to understand the pack came out last night most people that join these tournaments are doing it for fun and aren't sweating in a lab trying to figure out optimal lines and combos. The pack came out in the middle of the night, they probably woke up, opened a few packs, theory crafted a bit and threw a bunch of cards together that sounded good and practiced a little in ranked, and then joined the tournament. It's very easy to misplay any deck let alone one that just came out, so please don't be rude. It's very easy to sit back and comment on other people's flops but we would all be scrutinized if all of our games were broadcasted for the world to see.

That and at that point in the tournament they've been playing for several hours straight and are probably exhausted or at the very least tired enough that a few misplays may happen.

Yeah and there's a lot of nuance to Tenpai's OTKs which isn't so obvious when you gotta play through boards. Def takes some experience even tho the deck "looks easy".

The disgusting, talentless pieces of **** who play nothing but top meta decks are definitely sweating. Don't kid yourself.

It's difficult talking about those players bc at the end of the day they still got far in a tournament full of skilled people, but it's legit insane how they still deckbuild so pooly or even missplayed some basic lines

We may have different definitions for skilled. But regardless I doubt there are many that take the tournament fully seriously... Or atleast I hope so.

I was really mesmerized by why shifter is used in tenpai. Handtraps that need to be sent to the gy aside, half of their plays consists of reviving from the gy to otk...

Tenpai can easily lethal under shifter and shifter either kills or stymies pretty much every deck unless if you yourself are on a shifter deck

Discord Avatar

They can play under shifter, it's just a matter of opening shifter alongside handtraps that don't need to get into the gy or just killing them after it

Well, it is a community-based tournament, not a skill/official/top ladder cut, so the variety of players is mixed and skill level is lower in comparison to classical tournament. Ofc, there are really good players, but still

That's misleading, breaker focused builds have been topping in TCG. Just don't go ALL breakers. Also you gotta give people time to learn the deck, it JUST came out the same day lol

I still remember first week fire king was released .. I watched the meta weekly to learn it and you were there winning it with some great plays , and that helped me a lot .. Sadly we didn't get a guy like you for tenpai

I hate to break it to you but , alot of them in ocg or tcg play shifter with droplet, so stfu please

Average MDM comment. Hating on others pointing out missplays cause you the galaxy brain individual would never make them, and then spewing nonsense you heard from someone else or seen on reddit.

They're terrible duelists because they don't bother doing their homework. They just pick the newest thing, thinking it'll carry them to the top. Such a lazy and foolish mindset.

tenpai players usually just like to click shiny buttons

Can you teach me the way of mikanko senpai?

Maybe a deck list for pure go 2nd in current meta? I know it's stupid not to play ken/acid and go first, but I just don't enjoy playing combo.

I also don't need to be master, fully happy if I reach diamond and can win some games

The final duel was such a throw. Lab had Maxx C in hand with no answer from Yubel but he decided to hold it for some reason and go for Daruma play instead.

Most people that still play those decks are playing it for meta relevancy, so it's normal for them to move on to another fotm.

Ppl just overthinking how to beat tenpai. Just play normally and put some extrastep on it.

  • play mathmech or other cyberse deck with Teraherz as endboard and tenpai can't deal with it.
  • play Raidraptors ended with ultimate and Rising Rebellion and there's no way tenpai can out 5300 unaffected monster.
  • play Labrynth with rainbow life or Dimension barrier and GG.
  • play stun with clockwork night.
  • play ancient gear go first end with Chaos Ancient Gear and they will surrender in no time.
  • many others (too lazy to list all of them).

There's lot deck that can easly defeat tenpai, but ppl just "FOMO" about it, just like Kashtira Arise-Heart day 1 release.

tenpai's out for high attack monsters is trident dragion destroying the field spell during battle phase, it can attack 2-3 times and the field spell when destroyed in bp can double a synchro dragon's atk. Bident and transcedent dragion can also pop the field spell when they summon themselves from the graveyard and let's be real, just like arise-heart it is still a situation you have to play x deck while runing y tech that is useless against most other common decks and will work only against tenpai and the extra tech will make your deck extra brick against other meta decks. Tenpai was strong for months in TCG/OCG, its matchups will be even better on a best of one format because you have to prepare for more situations and it leaves less room for techs against a single deck.

Yes, i realise that Trident can multiple attack and the field spell can boost the attack. But if it's the situation, then you're not summoning the Transcend which turn off the effect of OP cards. Also, rising Rebellion can also blowing up the field on either in the battle phase or main phase and the field spell can't protect the dragon since it destroy everything in the same time. Lets say:

  • Trident has 6600 atk against worse field of RR with 3500 atk, 1400 atk, and 5300 atk monster and no backrow. With those wall, Trident must have 3 atk if not there will 3500 (or less) lp left. (Wise strix got destroyed by smoller dragon.

In bo1, you'll definitely prepared for the meta decks. In the current meta is tenpai. I don't know with you but i never played ash and imperm at 3 so i always has room for any meta matchup.

  • Shout out to Droll that make a SHS deck in check, it's also make the other deck suffering bcoz they cant add.
  • shout out to TTTalent and "book of" that deals with Kashtiras.

Both deck sure were everywhere that time, but both of them aren't that strong like ppl said since you already prepared. Dont you dare to say that you never bring 3 TTThrust to grab D-Barrier or Rainbow life. If you say that, then you already prood yourself that you're being lazy.

being on the receiving end of a go 2nd deck makes people extra salty. Imagine you spend minutes setting up your board and still get owned.

but I agree with this, people fear them more because of Bo1. but people forget tenpai cant also side-deck against you. So will still have an advantage if you play something that has good plays vs them.
