The community does know what it wants. We want less of a power gap between tier 1 decks and everyone else. We want more game balance. That means we want more tools that are effective against tier 1 decks (e.g. Bystial cards) and also more tools that allow lower-tier decks to play (e.g. Terraforming). A particular means of accomplishing one goal may conflict with accomplishing the other, but that's due to the complexity of the game, not a contradiction between the two goals.

here's the problem with that thought process: it's trying to have its cake and eat it too. every game is going to have a meta, balanced or unbalanced. You want tools that are effective against tier 1 decks without considering that those same tier 1 decks will make use of those tools against all the other decks. Yes, bystials smack around the tears. They also smack around any rouge decks using dark/light monsters in the GY. Yes, terraforming is great for rouge decks to get to their field spell that makes the deck run. Guess what it's also good for? finding planet for tear. The 2 goals ARE contradictory, as they only work in a world where only lower tier decks can play these generic powerful cards(like tear can't play terraforming but subterror can).

This is correct. This is cyclical in the Yugioh community. Unless THEIR Pet Deck is the BEST DECK, then the game is bad. Simple as that. This is something I noticed over the many years playing this game. Yugioh is the one game where the casual playerbase is way more annoying and toxic than the competitive scene. It is very shocking. Also, how many of the "Casual" decks result in a fun or interesting game-state? The answer is almost none. Is Weather Painters locking everyone out of everything fun? Is Buster Blader locking everyone out of everything fun? No. They just suck at being unfair compared to more consistent decks. They still try to do unfun and toxic things, they just don't have the tools to do it consistently. If decks that are considered low tier were the best deck all of a sudden, the same people would complain about it.

Wrong. It doesnt have to be contradictory in essence. What would solve this is a dedicated ban list of cards that cant be played together. So Terra and planet for tear are forbidden in the same deck, but its not forbidden in rogue decks. This game needs a dedicated ban list since there are already so many cards and bc its so complex.

So the duel links banlist? Do you not realize that is a terrible idea? For starters, Duel links and TCG/OCG/MD are not the same game in many aspects. There is no Main phase 2 in DL, You only have a 4/5 card opening hand in 20-30 card decks. There are f****** skills that massively make up for a decks lack of power, its also only best of 1 meaning no side decks. The list of reasons goes on. Do you really want a banlist that has hundreds, potentially thousands of cards on it at banned, limited, and semi limited? Not to mention duel links has a much more limited card pool, and they are released monthly rather than at seemingly random. This idea sounds like it comes from someone who plays like ABC or something else that literally can't function without their field spell. There is a need to fix the game, but this idea is not it.

If it were for me we would ban Dweller and the Ishizu's but that's not on me and i am not sitting at the R&D team of Konami. I am a participant. My "job" is now to find the most effective way to play in this format. To understand it. And to counter the problems you mentioned with tech choices. If you don't like the format you are free to not participate. It won't last long anyway. There is always a next format.

Nothing in this environment is truly balanced. There will always be a Tier 1. There will always be a component that sticks out more than others. Be a Tier 0 and people will complain about the lack of diversity. Be extremely diverse and people will complain about a format being unpredictable and hard to prepare for. If you really need to have new cards preemptively addressed without fully embracing them for at least a little while just to keep a sence of "balance" then i would think for a minute or two if competitive games are for you the begin with. You are good at observations so give that one a swing.

If that lasts a month, it means we would have full power X (X = new archetype released, in this case Bystials) for a month. Tear is Tear 0 as a pre-hit released archetype. As an abyss actor enthusiast, I wanted to mention not to overlook this archetype - either to play or when you see it in the ladder. Is it top tier? Nope. But can a good pilot get consistent wins and bait their opponent pretty easily? Totally.

A couple of notes if you’re interested:

Super Producer MAKES this deck, and gives it the ability to play going first
given the master duel meta + limits on floodgates skill drain and gozen match, I believe that blind second will still be the stronger alternative.
if you’re interested in playing the deck, you really only need x2 hyper director and x2 super producer in the extra deck unless you want to try to turn one combo ending on vortex dragon, apollousa and an abyss actor. This means you can run a ghost reaper and winter cherries package which I believe will be really strong in the current meta.
for the love of Divine arsenal Zeus, if you’re playing against abyss actors don’t pop set cards on their back row.
it’s really tempting to negate or ash the pendulum monsters, especially when you don’t know where the deck is going. SAVE YOUR NEGATES FOR THE LINK MONSTERS..
banishing set abyss scripts does not trigger them. They have to be destroyed to trigger their crazy effects. If you can banish them before super producer can quick effect the field spell onto the field, you can dodge them.
Super poly does wonders in this deck, not only to get your opponent but also to push for game with starving venom. Just be careful bc hyper director and mellow Madonna lock you into abyss actors HARD.
rise of the abyss king is one of the archetypes best cards, and can’t be negated if they have a level 7 on the field. Pop mellow Madonna, superstar or evil heel as soon as you see it if you have a spell negate. Otherwise it can get ugly fast.
if you want to play the deck, run one sassy rookie. He is one of the stickiest monsters around and is SO useful in combos.

Yes! I would say Kaijus are a must regardless of build bc you can steal them using comic relief. Lava golem are higher risk given sometimes you just don’t draw your special summon starters and need that normal to get the ball rolling. The true MVP in blind second is actually Alpha, the Master of Beasts who can special summon, disrupt or eat a negate, and get out of there to allow curtain raiser to special summon.

At this point, the F&L list exists more to protect Tearlament than to balance the game. Konami hit Instant Fusion to protect Kitkallos, Foolish Burial Goods and Terraforming to protect Planet, and now both Bystials for the sole purpose of protecting the Tearlament fusion effects.

It's because the Selection Pack of Tear is still in the shop. People would be mad if they spent gems to make a deck they get it killed when the sale is still open. Maybe some people had not enough gems until now and only now would buy Tear packs. If they hit them it would make those people not to purchase it.

They should've let the Bystials to be at least Semi-Limited instead of Limited as they're good counters for Tears.

We need Tearlaments Perlegia and Tearlaments Kashtira, the deck is not enough consistent.

Also Konami should really unlimit all Tear cards, these Bystials are too strong and will be the next Tier 0, Tears can't play against those 2 D.D. Bystials Crows. And they should really give us 5000 + 1900 free gems as pride month login. And send to every Gold Rank or higher a LOB Blue-Eyes White Dragon right at their homes.
