Notes & Combos
After submitting a Numeron deck for this event, I still needed some DARK VSP for the title. So I basically just copy/pasted my Numeron Deck and swapped out the Numeron stuff for an equivalent-ish style of going second cheese available to the DARK side: Number 86: Rhongomyniad turbo using Numbers Eveil, paired with Sales Ban declaring Rhongo to never have to detach material from his own effect. Then just slowly punch for game as the opponent is floodgated from doing anything productive.
Compared to my Numeron list I dropped Called By the Grave because Rhongo doesn't care about Blackwing Sharnga. I also dropped Red Reboot because Labrynth is likely an auto-loss since they rarely summon from the Extra Deck turn 1, so no point in running cards for the matchup. More importantly, I quite like that the Main Deck is now all spells. 🤣
More 1-for-1 draw spells like Upstart Goblin/Chicken Game/Into the Void across fewer copies of board breakers is probably correct but I just never got around to it. Surprisingly, this deck did manage a 7-winstreak against diamonds/masters where I managed to find the 2-card combo six times on turn 2 (the seventh was a Dark World player that anger scooped after a bad Danger! snipe; even then my chance at the 2-card combo looked likely since I opened Eveil). For my eighth, lost match I still opened full combo, I just got outgrinded by a Runic deck paired with a bit of bad luck finding Feather Duster. If anything, I feel like I want to swap in copies of Cosmic Cyclone/Twin Twister over deck thinners but that might be overcorrecting.
To spell things out for Eveil, I'm running two different sets of fodder for my two copies of Rhongomyniad as examples of no UR combinations:
- 34(SR) + 5(R) + 24(SR) + 24(SR) = 86(UR)
- 13(R) + 48(R) + 14(SR) + 11(SR) = 86(UR)
For convenience, if you want to make your own combinations, I believe this should be the full list of relevant numbers:
- Number C1: Numeron Chaos Gate Sunya 2✪ (SR)
- Number 5: Doom Chimera Dragon 5✪ (R)
- Number C5: Chaos Chimera Dragon 6✪ (R)
- Number 11: Big Eye 7✪ (SR)
- Number 13: Embodiment of Crime 1✪ (R)
- Number 14: Greedy Sarameya 5✪ (SR)
- Number 15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Grinder 8✪ (UR)
- Number C15: Gimmick Puppet Giant Hunter 9✪ (SR)
- Number 22: Zombiestein 8✪ (UR)
- Number 23: Lancelot, Dark Knight of the Underworld 8✪ (SR)
- Number 24: Dragulas the Vampiric Dragon 6✪ (SR)
- Number 31: Embodiment of Punishment 1✪ (R)
- Number 34: Terror-Byte 3✪ (SR)
- Number 35: Ravenous Tarantula 10✪ (N)
- Number 40: Gimmick Puppet of Strings 8✪ (SR)
- Number C40: Gimmick Puppet of Dark Strings 9✪ (SR)
- Number 43: Manipulator of Souls 2✪ (R)
- Number C43: High Manipulator of Chaos 3✪ (R)
- Number 48: Shadow Lich 3✪ (R)
- Number 50: Blackship of Corn 4✪ (R)
- Number 53: Heart-eartH 5✪ (N)
- Number 65: Djinn Buster 2✪ (R)
- Number C65: King Overfiend 3✪ (R)
There's a few numbers over 65 I excluded because they have no valid combinations to reach Rhongo. Number XX: Utopic Dark Infinity also can't be used for Eveil in general since it lacks a number.
Note that there are cheaper combinations than what I used, e.g:
- 65(R) + 5(R) + C5(R) + 11(SR) = 86(UR)
I was just bad and didn't realize Chaos Number cards count when I made my list. Also, there are no N/R only combinations.
The rest of my Extra Deck doesn't really matter. Pain Gainer and Seven Sins are there for if I somehow manage to save Triple Tactics for stealing a high rank XYZ monster. Fortress Dragon and Alba-Lenatus are there because contact fuse jumpscares are funny, but they still need to be cleared from my field to resolve Eveil. Dharc... does his best. 🙂
