Notes & Combos
Carried by the best deck. Gryphon was because I pulled it while making Mekk Knights and thought it could be nice to floodgate someone when summoned off Masq under Elf, but the best it ever did was crash into a Dark Magician under Skill Drain. Goddess or third Elf would have been better there. I get why people don't like Goddess but it's a nice catch-all for the garbage you run into on ladder. Wind-Up Cat didn't come up much, but when it did it was a life saver.
I kinda just stuck with this Runick breakdown without thinking too much, but if I play the deck more I might swap a Smiting Storm for Dispelling... Dispelling isn't an interruption, but it helps you capitalize on the card advantage this deck generates. There were even times where I would open Dispelling+X as my only Runicks and they'd Maxx "C" me, so I could give them a single Maxx "C" draw, loop a card then shuffle both Runicks and draw with fountain for an overall +1.
No Ash because you really want to see Runick cards and Level 2's when you're drawing. The Spright plays die to Maxx "C", but I had some nice wins just passing without giving them any Maxx "C" draws and surviving off of Runicks alone. If I couldn't do that I just cried about it and went next, that's just the Maxx "C" life.

- G1 - Hand ripped and forced and no Maxx "C" counter (loss but shows the idea, could have won if my last draw wasn't completely dead :( )
- G2 - Tough game against Despia because of Droll, surviving on Runick plays
- G3 - Not playing into Maxx "C" and using Dispelling to loop them
- G4 - Fun back and forth with Despia, including Maxx "C" on turn 2 when I used Called By...
