Notes & Combos
Pros:
Your explosive turn one combo ends on lots of different and layered interruptions (fe 1 Loci = 5 interruptions)
You've got lots of tools to break boards going second with Konkon and Princess, while being able to access your engines without commiting to your normal summon.
All of your engines can give you access to your other engines with cards like Jasmine and Glamour.
You have a decent matchup into tearlaments (keep in mind that tributing the tears for cost does not trigger their effects!), all the anti tear decks can't keep up with your resource generation and the anti tear tech is at best a small nuissance to you.
This deck is (in theory) incredibly consistent with 7 direct ways to access Loci and ways to get to your Loci combo while starting out with your Rikkas. And while a pure Rikka setup seems far weaker at first (usually ending on Konkon, sheet and princess plus a body on board), you'll quickly realise that this can be more than enough to even stop Tear. Stealing monsters or tributing for cost while negating is something a lot of decks can't deal with.
Cons:
Holy ravioli this deck can brick. Drawing Sunseed Twin can ruin your combo even if all other cards in your hand are great. Lots of the Rikka cards can't start plays on their own and you generally have lots of one ofs that you don't really wanna draw, or only work with specific other cards.
Your Loci combo is super fragile and dies to pretty much every handtrap. But in that case it's often flexible enough that you can get to Jasmine and cards like Mudan can allow you to keep playing even when you've already commited your normal summon.
You have almost no way to deal with backrow outside of Regulus and sometimes Hyperyton, which isn't a big issue since none of the pure backrow decks are viable rn.
Deck building:
These are (almost) the ratios that Jess used in her list that she topped YCS London with and after fumbling around with the ratios on my own I think this is the most efficiant way to play rikka sunseed. I took out one petal for space reasons, but it's also only your second best normal summon in a format where you can't side and go second roughly half of the time. Playing three is also fine tho.
If you want to learn the combos and familiarize yourself with the cards I can only recommend you check out Jess on youtube! The combos aren't at all intuitive and learning them is a must.
Evenly Matched is a broken card and wins games on it's own, run 3 in every deck this szn
