Notes & Combos
Dark Magician deck with heavy Lair of Darkness presence. Feel free to reduce it under 50. Some combinations - hints for the non-DM cards:
Ahrima:
- Under Lair on turn 2 is able to search Illusion of Chaos or Dark Magician. This makes Verte live for Destiny Fusion.
- Its self-tribute helps a lot with Soul Servant or Dark Magical Circle, latter is especially great if you find floodgates. They'll rarely negate it.
- Its search for Lair in some cases can be used to get an additional draw from Magicians' Souls.
Combos with Lair:
- Palladium Oracle Mahad doesn't have activated effects on the field, and will always hit 5k ATK.
- With Gozen the opponent can only summon DARK monsters, you also could destroy Lair at any time with DPE to force Gozen.
- Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror works great once you have Eternal Soul in field or Illusion of Chaos in hand. Careful because it makes DPE and Scythe useless. It doesn't negate Masked HERO Dark Law continuous' effect.
- Enemy Controller is able to take out 2 opponent monsters in one go while giving you access to a body for the rest of the turn.
- You can use Mask Change II on ANY level 5 or lower monster, even if they're not originally DARK (Maxx "C"), owned by the opponent or are a token.
General way to use the deck:
- You should try to get the floodgates or Enemy Controller, otherwise Lair doesn't really help much going 1st, luckily in this case Souls can take care of it or you can bait Ash / Gamma with Ahrima.
- Try to summon DPE as soon as possible, with Verte you only need 2 bodies, one of which will be Souls and the other will usually be Ahrima or Magician's Rod.
- To Scythe lock you need to summon Magician's Rod and Magicians' Souls, adding Soul Servant. Link for Artifact Dagda then activate Soul Servant to stack Mahad and set Artifact Scythe. Then go for Verte and DPE.
- Master of Chaos can resurrect DPE or Scythe in case they're needed, in turn DPE can destroy Master to restore a Spell from the GY.
- In case you don't have access to Lair or can't use it, play like a normal DM deck that has DPE.
