Notes & Combos
Deck I've been messing around with since the structure deck came out and tinkering around with ratios a lot until now. Thank god this deck is cheap in MD!
There's a lot of content (mostly by NESHY) out there that already explains what the deck does so I'll just explain some ratios and maybe it makes sense.
- 7 Pegasus is standard and anywhere between 7-9 is good.
- 5 consistency cards (TTT, extrav, prosp). These conflict with each other so 5 is the maximum you should run as more would increase the chances of openjng two too much. Would play more TTT over extrav if I had the dust probably, card is crazy this format.
- 5 board breakers, same idea. Lightning Storm has been underwhelming but I don't really have any other cards. Opting out of Ash and CBTG since board breakers are just better this format, plus the deck doesn't care about Maxx "C", plus going 2nd can be hard for this deck.
- Counting the cockroach and TTT the deck is on 9 non-engine cards which is the maximum you should run (and probably can fit). Any more and you significantly increase the likelihood of drawing 3+ non-engine and this deck really wants to draw engine since it lives and dies on 2 card combos.
- 1 field spell isn't typical but I really want to maximise on board breakers and the options for the 2nd field spell are pretty underwhelming. Basically they are only used in the exact scenario where I hard draw Necrovalley, which is just too low impact until a good 2nd option comes out (looking at you Kashtira field spell).
- The 5th trap would be nice but they're pretty bad to draw going 2nd. Might also try 2 Conclave 2 Miracle.
- The only ED monsters that matter are the ones that aren't garbage fusions (and even the Zoodiacs are a stretch but they're dirt cheap). Run Dweller once Tearlaments arrive on MD.
