GOING 2ND PAINTERS!
This is a deck list is built more around consistancy, using "going second cards" to nulify your opponents board while building your own (we play 15 going second cards + x2 cosmic vs runic and 1 pot card).
Going 2nd Painters" has a few advantages
- Setting rainbow with Snow/forecast gives you an additional weather painter in rotation (for a body or an additional omni negate/banish)
- If you're able to "out" your opponents board while setting up rainbow it's usually an auto-win
- The deck can have consistancy issues since in Master Duel limits Prosperity. Having the extra draw increases the chances of opening playable
- We're a control deck so we play Evenly/DRNM
- Setting/placing floodgates going second is a lot weaker than setting/placing floodgates going first.
- Since it's a B01, most people go first when they win the coinflip so for consistancy we build a deck to not rely on winning the coinflip
There's a lot of matchup specific interactions but just a few to note if you decide to play painters... Here's a few that may help!
- Try to always have follow-up using snowy to search for snow
- Remember Moonbow can be a great option to out decks that need tokens "swoswo" wink wink
- IP + Avar combo is insanly easy to out thanks to thundery
- Using Rainbow to solem strike a Sky striker player can auto kill their engine
- If Mirrorjade uses their effect, you can chain all of your painters so the branded player has to banish something on their side of the field
