Notes & Combos
The only correct way to play the new Performapal cards in Magicians!
For the most part this will play like a standard Magicians list with a lot harder sequencing because you have a lot of new moving parts and ways to extend that aren't native to the engine, and that make thinking ahead in combos a lot harder, this also means you give your opponent a lot of interruption points that aren't really important to your deck, giving them a lot more room to misplay.
And here's a quick overview of what each one of the new cards does for the deck.
- Performapal Gentrude is part of the 2-card combo with Ladyange, but when drawn on his lonesome can still be used to fix your scales by popping him with Electrumite, and setting a Low Scale from the deck. Very occasionally, the effect to add himself back to your hand will also come up on turn 3, or in combos.
- Performapal Ladyange is the other half of the 2-card combo, and a Foolish Burial target, with the effect to scale herself from the graveyard, she also serves as the Scale 1 you can float into with Gentrude, lastly, she enables you to draw 2 during your standard combo by using her discard effect with Butler.
- Performapal Odd-Eyes Butler is the clear standout among the new support, as many have incorporated him into standard decklists, as an extender that can trigger Timestar's mill and fix a lot of lines.
- Performapal Odd-Eyes Valet is the weak link of the new support and is there only for the 2-card combo.
