Notes & Combos
Overview
This is a handtrap-heavy version of the Aroma focused plant strategy. I chose handtraps over board breakers for faster games and for more safety if forced to pass under Maxx "C", which is not included here because I do not have it and have no intention of crafting it.
Why not Rikka?
Rikka is a very explosive combo deck but also expends a lot of resources, leaving little followup. It also requires a lot of bricks and a large deck size with not much room for non-engine. Aroma sacrifices the several negates that rikka brings to the table in favor of a much stickier board with protections against targetting, destruction, and even battle via the Therion field spell. Marjoram in particular has several useful effects that give the deck a favorable matchup against many of the meta decks. Immunity to battle damage for instance is useful against Yubel and makes the Tenpai matchup very free.
How it Plays
This deck has tons of lines and ways to play through various interruption, a lot of this deck's strength depends on your ability to freestyle which comes with experience but the standard combos are included in the replays section. Resolving the Link 3 is arguably the most important part of the deck, as that alone will get you to your most crucial endboard pieces. If you have an extra Jasmine search you can search Rose Girl as free discard fodder for Blend or an early Angelica. Reborn also works as a great extender/GY disrupt if you use it well.
Alternatives
Instead of the main deck jasmine you can run Naturia Rosewhip, or a small rikka package (Mudan, Glamour, Primula, Princess, Strenna, Teardrop/Hyperyton) if you don't mind the extra bricks. Rosewhip is probably better if you go lighter on handtraps.
