Notes & Combos

My mindset with this deck was to maximize the amount of interactivity each hand has. This decklist will lead to lower endboard ceilings but will give you hands that play through multiple interruptions or atleast give you 2+ handtraps to stop your opponent. Our deck's ceiling is often strong enough to stop most hands anyway, so slightly reducing the power level to increase the chance of making an endboard is worth it imo. I tried to remove as many bricks as I could, especially since we had to add some bricks due to Tenpai.

Main Deck:

  • Could replace Veiler with Droll but many decks I played against do well vs Droll. Helps vs Maxx C though.

  • 1 or 2 Soul is fine, 3 can lead to more bricking on 2+ Soul in hand. It's the easiest resonator to search for. However, I've seen a lot more Droll lately so maybe you do want to play 3, up to you.

  • 2 Void Apoc. Way to dump Bone if Soul negated, Vision for Gaia, or Uvualoop to extend. Don't want to run 3 because Void Apoc + Cent Field Spell costs you 2 discards.

  • Rise to Full Height is good Tenpai tech with Flame Crime but Flame Crime sucks. Crimson + Wildwind gets you full combo without having to normal summon, and you can follow up with Soul Reso normal summon if you get interrupted. Flame Crime doesn't extend you further or help play past hand traps, it just nets you an interruption or tech on top of your full combo. Wildwind also helps vs Shifter decks.

  • Kuriphoton is anti-Tenpai tech. The search is rare but can be clutch, especially if they shotgun Maxx C, which is common without Gamma.

  • Red Screen is also anti-Tenpai tech that synergizes well with Auxila.

  • Chain Resonator is win-more and doesn't do anything on it's own so I removed it.

  • Phalanx is really good but I hate bricking on it and it doesn't come up as much with Gargoyle. Would replace Red Screen with it if Tenpai becomes less relevant.

  • Gargoyle gives you a recurring body that synergizes well with Lubellion and can often start your Bystial engine early, netting you an extra draw Turn 1. It's good on follow-up plays too with Vision Resonator into Baronne/Chaos Angel. The trade-off of running Gargoyle and not Wake-Up is that there is no RDA name on the board to use Soul's GY Protection, but Gaia makes it easy to get one anyway.

Extra Deck:

  • Can run 2 RDA

  • Kuibelt the GOAT in so many games. If you're interrupted on Soul and on Trudea from Field Spell, then you can atleast make Kuibelt on opponent's turn.

  • Legatia good vs Maxx C
