Notes & Combos

If you like Runick combo decks, White Forest is the perfect deck for you. It is highly underrated when compared to other White Forest variants.

The gameplan is always to bait out handtraps with Hugin since opponents will throw everything at it to prevent you from getting Fountain, then go into your White Forest plays. The ideal endboard includes: Fountain, Woes, and Scourge with Diabell on the field and a level 6 synchro in your GY.

Really cool techs that make this deck super fun:

  • Looping fountain on the first turn by utilizing either Rciela or Elzette to send fountain the GY and getting it back with Geri to make Baronne or Diabell. When you have good hands with a lot of Runicks you are able to draw six on the first turn.

  • Endlessly recycling Baronne with Tri-Edge Master and one of the level 4 white forest synchros on your stanby phase.

  • Utilizing Scourge to tribute Diabell on your oppontents turn to bring it back to then synchro with Formula for a level 10 for additional distruption.

  • Hugin is not once per turn, so you can potentailly use it as hand trap bait and then summon Hugin again later in the turn to get Fountain.

Early on in the DC I played Tales of the White Forest but it felt like a win more option that is dead if you don't already have a WF card on the field, so I changed it to 2x Woes. The imperms and Effect Veiler are going second options that also work well going first since Effect Veiler can be searched with Rciela for additional disruption.

If you get Maxx C'd it is not the end of the world depending on your hand. If you have Fountain and Maxx C yourself you can draw into Runicks. If you opened Silvy you can set Woes and synchro into Silvera on your opponents turn.
