Notes & Combos
Standard Scareclaw Adventure Phoenix pile.
I didn't change much from last DC. Found the climb difficult this time around with all the Runick, Spright, and Floo going around. If they can keep you tied down for a few turns, they win the grind (at least from my experience), so you really need to get them quick. Ended on a 4W streak!
Gameplan:
If you open with more than one engine, you need to determine which one will be your bait. For example, opening both Water Enchantress and a Scareclaw name. You can lead with WE effect to bait out Ash. (pray you have Callled By for MaxxC...) If it gets negated, you can hopefully continue with Scareclaw. If it works out, you can normal summon your Scareclaw to trigger Faithful Adventure. Having Adventure Token + Gryphon/Illegal on the board in defence nets you a draw with Rieicheart and a pop with the Field Spell, giving you a little more gas should you luck out and not get disrupted.
Scareclaw name > Light-Heart > Field Spell > Reichheart > Scareclaw Arrival - Standard line you'll always use. Depending on game state, you'll either extend for:
- Artifact Dagda - Usually the Turn 1 play. Sadly we need to play this to keep outselves safe on Turn 2. Remember you need to activate an effect after summoning in order to trigger its effect. Afterwards, you'll find a way to Verte to make DPE. Depending on your greed, you pop it immediately next turn in Draw Phase or you can hope they don't have something to stop you, popping Scythe and one of their cards instead. Greed kills though! ;)
- Tri-Claw - If you're in the clear you can easily hit in for the OTK on Turn 2 onward.
- Avaramax/Accesscode - If you're truly desperate and need their respective effects. Luckily I haven't needed them this time round.
Other Options
- I really like Illegal Knight, but sadly it never came up much this time around. Best case scenario you can bounce two, the bring him home with Dracoback. Works great if Gryphon isn't enough
- Baronne and Chengying - Also never came up. Had them for the rare cases if I had a Adventure + Handtrap with nothing else. Pure backup. So definitely not needed here. Could come up more if you decide to run Visas Starfrost
- Charmers - Aussa and Dhark - Link climbing in longer games.
- Cherubini - Took it out for a bit and kinda forgot I did. I'd add this back in. Turning 2 Scareclaw beasts into a Water Enchantress search to extend into Adventure is still very strong.

Not many good ones to share on this climb. Most people scoop once they lose control of the board, but I saved a few.
