Notes & Combos

Skullpremacy, aka blind 2nd Horus Skull Servant. Decided to stick to this deck instead of my usual deck-skipping, just to prove to myself and others that it could reach DLv. Max. Started at 18 and went from 18 to Max in 14 games (11 wins). If I had enough time, I'd grind the ladder too, but maybe you can do the honors?

The plan is simple: go 2nd, break boards, mill, win with the King, ideally as OTK. Horus allows for discarding, hand trap & negate baiting, board clearing (Garunix/Dingirsu), and/or additional milling (Zombie Vampire). It also increases odds when going 1st if inconveniently made to do so by the opponent.

Wight strategies are the usual ones, Wightbaking is the go-to to add the King, Lord, Prince or Princess, depending on what you need (remember it is HOPT, unlike Prince). Before milling more with Wightlord, make sure you sent to the GY as much as possible with things like Grass, Zombie Vampire, or Uni-Zombie/Gozuki with Baking/Prince.

T.T.Thrust gets you Grass, use after all possible baits. Droplet discards and breaks boards, perfect for this deck. Do NOT underestimate Wightprincess! Especially if bricked or made to go first, Princess can send a Prince to GY, bait an Ash Blossom/Veiler/Imperm, and even dodge the last two by sending itself to the GY, assuming there's a monster with a level/rank on the field. This last effect in particular is amazing to prevent being OTK'd and can prolong games and give you one more chance!

Additional Gimmicks:

  • Have started using Bystials as outs to certain decks and to combat Called By the Grave, not bad so far (can even allow for Beatrice if lucky).
  • Opti-Camouflage allows the King to bypass most defenses, fun but not necessary. Used it more with dedicated cards, but removed them for the Bystial package.
  • Vampire Fraulein is simply great (see replay). Hard draw because searching with Glow-Up Bloom locked me into Zombies which wasn't always welcome.
  • Zeus, S:P, Ty-phon, Anima & Underworld Goddess are useful to fall back or grind

Ash Blossom or other hand traps don't feel necessary at all, especially because the deck can brick enough already and then becomes too vulnerable to interruptions.

Overall there is still room for improvement. I am missing cards I don't want to use my remaining UR points on (Bystial Mag+Lub, third Maxx "C", Foolish Burial, better ED staples).

Let me know what you think and don't forget to check out the replays if interested!
