Notes & Combos

This is similar to my insect OTK deck in the recent monster type festival. Once we were in the Fusion Xyz event, I could use stronger cards such as Bagooska, Time Thief, and most importantly, The Seven Sins. With Seven Sins, Mother Spider Splitter or any single starter to it is now a one card OTK (assuming no or insignificant interruption).

I did not craft extra UR/SR for this deck. The SR and UR in the deck are either cards I got lucky from the Master Pack, staples that came free or with the special bundles, or legacy pack cards.

If I was willing to invest more, I would add in more board breakers like Harpie's Feather Duster. Having no access to links hurt the regular deck in a significant way, but I did not have those link monsters anyway. This deck also wants Small World, but I don't need Small World outside of this event, so I am not crafting that card either. Having multiple Gadarlas actually helped in opening with a way to break omni-negates, but for next time, I would also consider adding Forbidden Droplet to replace some of my insignificant extenders such as Dragonbite or Shiny since I often came up against one or two significant omni-negates or interuptions where I either did not have Gadarla or needed an extra board breaker.

The gameplan is simply blind going 2nd. Try to OTK with the XYZ spiders. If your opponent survives, either win with the spiders or have Doom Dozer or Zeus as your secondary backup to close out the game. Having Cicada, Bagooska, and/or Time Thief helps when forced to go first.
