Notes & Combos
This is my list for the climb of the month! It was a really smooth grind, got some great streaks and I liked the list a lot, altough maybe I can still polish it
Armored package gives a whole new layer of plays with more extension, a bigger endboard, infinite followup, a stronger going 2nd and some otk capabilities that were before completely absent - all at the cost of 2 ed slots and 2 bricks.
Your endboard usually consists of Apollousa, Lancer, Ptolemaeus equipped with Delteros, set trap and set skybridge. During your opponent's turn Ptolemaeus will rank up into Diamond or Durendal (according to the matchup) triggering Delteros (sent from field to the GY) to summon Altair which can bring back a tellar (like Delteros) and trigger Altairan to come back and pop 2 cards, then you use the trap to xyz into Dweller. If you get hit by a board breaker like DRNM or Droplet you can instead play it differently with Skybridge to make Triverr on their turn (alongside the Altairan pops) which wipes the board, resets a bit of your ed, you still have Delteros that triggers when they out Triverr who will also summon back Delteros, etc.
The actual wild choice in the ed is Knightmare Cerberus. It's here because you can make it with any 2 monsters (like Armored which is WATER and would not make Azalea) and unlike I:P is still useful without needing another ed slot for a link like Unicorn or Goddess. It can trigger Delteros and it can also chainblock it if you're breaking a board or if you're recovering from Nibiru (like if you're able to get on the field Delteros+Nib token, you still play through ash). It is also useful t3, especially if summoned under Apollousa, but a key aspect of Cerberus is that it can be made with XYZ Armor Fortress and discard Fully Armored XYZ which opens up a lot of otk lines. To be fair, this means that a lone Caduceus gets you to an otk if you can discard fully armored.
The biggest strength of Armored engine however is of course the ability to loop Delteros in unfair ways by using it as an equip. The accidental sinergy between Armored and Tellars is unhironically amazing.
This doesn't mean that the engine is a must play in this deck. The two cards are still bricks individually and drawing them not only has less utility than drawing other cards but opening one of them may also bring you to some weird lines. Still, the engine is worth playing just because of how many purpouses the cards have.
