Notes & Combos

Exact same list from when I originally started playing this build when Tenpai dropped. See my profile and the previous Infernoble deck posted for more details on the list.

The basic concept is to go first and apply huge pressure to your opponent's handtraps with Terrortop, Connector and TTT, freeing up Isolde/Angelica to fully resolve. If the full Terrortop opener goes uninterrupted and you have access to Ogier, you can summon Dolphin off Isolde to look at the hand and then full combo from there. I'm playing 40 cards to maximize the chance of opening a Maxx C counter. I've considered Droll or Crossout but there's just nothing I want to cut, and playing more than 40 defeats the purpose of this approach.

Tenpai has remained a popular deck on ladder, so I kept playing this. Even though Tenpai is not as widespread as when it first dropped, this list is still doing extremely well for me. In fact, it actually got better, which I didn't entirely expect since I'm not going first as often, but I think there are three reasons for it. The first two are Gamma and Shifter being at 1; these were some of the most difficult handtraps to deal with, as Shifter shuts you down and Gamma destroying a Warrior body was rough. The other reason is I'm just getting better with the deck as I continue to play it. I'm especially happy with my going 2nd win rate, which is way above where I started with this build.

Again I tracked my games, here are my stats beginning in Diamond 5:

Games Played: 105

Going 1st: 63%

Overall Win Rate: 65%

Win Rate Going 1st: 79%

Win Rate Going 2nd: 41%
