Notes & Combos
If you are reading this you probably have already read the White Forest guides this great community has made. I don't want to be redundant so I'll just explain my personal picks.
The MVPs:
- 3 x Triple Tactics Talent: I expect getting interrupted via monster handtrap, so this allows me to dig into my deck for a Runick Spell, Maxx C, White Forest for me to extend or survive for 1 more turn.
- 3 x Evenly Matched: Good against Labrynth, Yubel, Snake-Eyes Fire King, and other decks that aren't Tenpai nor an Omni-negate monster spammer. Do not use a Runick Spell before you activate this Card.
- 1 x Astella: I know most deck lists cut this one out, as you can't synchro this with the Runicks; this one is dead on the field if you get hand-trapped. However, this card is explosive if I am able to resolve its effect and, at the very least, tanks an Ash Blossom so I can do Runick shenanigans.
- 1 x Dugares: Helps me get more Runick Spells, you mainly rely on Fountain, Tactics, Coral and Tri-edge for your Draws so the drawback isn't as bad.
Possible Questions:
- Why no Silhouhatte Rabbit/Visas Amritara?
Answer: I don't like drawing into the traps associated with these cards, my starting hand should have cards that I can use ASAP to survive (Maxx/Triple/Evenly). In most cases, I would be hand-trapped to the point I wouldn't even have a chance to search these cards.
- No Impermanence, Veiler, Droll, Nibiru, Ghost Ogre?
Answer: Yes, I only have 6 hand traps, I want to keep the deck 40 cards for consistency and make each draw matter, therefore Maxx C and Ash are the picks.
- No Bagooska, Formula Synchron, Zeus/Typhon?
Answer: In my eyes Runick's search/recover/protection takes priority over these cards. Runick cards would prevent you from summoning a Zeus, because of the Battle Phase skip. Typhon is okay but underpowered, especially going 2nd on an established board. The only "slow" card I have is I:P Masquerade, and even then I'm thinking of removing it for a 2nd Little Knight.
- Rucia/Silvy/Runick ratios are are 1 or 2 only, why not maximize?
I don't like drawing duplicates that I can't use. I only need 1 Elzette/Astella resolving to get the whole package. The rest of the deck can help me extend and interrupt my opponent.
Replays
Replays:
Labrynth: the 2 Evenly Matched sealed the deal.
Tenpai: I have several, you can see me either using Triple Tactics effect or tossing it for cost.
Naturia: Evenly really helps out against rogue match ups.
Salamangreat: Using Dugares and Tri-edge to extend.
