Notes & Combos

Finally the new Selection Pack is here, and with it comes the long awaited Fiendsmith and Azamina cards. Decks like Snake-Eye, White Forest, and Yubel are loving these additional engines to bolster their plays. However, there's one other archetype introduced in this pack: the Millennium cards. A duelist at first glace may think, "Oh, more nostalgia baiting and DM pandering from Konami. I need to play five bricks in my deck? Why would anyone play these pathetic cards over Fiendsmith?" Well, as a wise man once said, "My grandpa's deck has no pathetic cards!"

"Ah! It's not possible!" Oh it most definitely is. For the first time, we have an Exodia deck that does not aim to draw all five pieces to win. Instead, this deck has one very simple objective: turbo out "The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate" with "Millennium Ankh". This new incarnation of Exodia is a Spell/Trap negate, can search "Exxod Fires of Rage" which is a quick-effect Raigeki, and can even OTK the opponent by himself.

While not as oppresive or excessive as something like a full Snake-Eye Fiendsmith Azamina or Yubel endboard, the Exodia endboard is deceptively strong. In addition to your S/T negate and Raigeki, you can summon Silhouhatte Rabbit to fetch Angel Statue - Azurune, a card that negates special summons. You can also potentially have handtraps and/or Super Poly in addition to that.

Pros of the deck:

  • No complex combos or lines to memorize.
  • Plays around Maxx "C" and the Mulcharmy cards incredibly well.
  • Super Poly access with a wide array of targets.
  • Consistency and resistance to common handtraps.
  • D. Shifter compatible.
  • You can play lots of non-engine.
  • Magnamhut can search Blue-Eyes which is a starter.
  • If you can't afford the Extra Deck URs, they are not required to play the deck aside from Exodia himself.
  • Resistant against Kashtira Unicorn's ED banish effect.
  • Has grind game.
  • OTK potential with "Obliterate!!! Blaze"
  • Nobody reads the second effect of Blue-Eyes lol.

Cons of the deck:

  • You need to play five bricks (Exodia pieces).
  • Millennium Ankh's restrictions means you cannot have generic endboard pieces like I:P, Apollousa, etc.
  • Exodia is vulnerable to non-destruction removal.
  • Aside from Exodia, your monsters don't have useful effects on field other than protection.
  • Endboard is sometimes not enough if your opponent has a good hand.

Is this deck top-tier? Probably not, but I guarantee you it's better than you think. Never underestimate the Forbidden One!

These replays include duels against many archetypes like Snake-Eye Fiendsmith Azamina, Yubel Fiendsmith, Millennium Exodia, and Mannadium Azamina. I showcase the deck's impressive endboard potential, ability to play around Mulcharmys and Maxx "C", and OTK capabilities. There's also a bonus replay where I actually assemble ALL FIVE PIECES OF EXODIA! albeit with the help of Maxx "C". Don't expect that to ever happen in your games though.
