Notes & Combos

Decided to try an all-in on board breakers approach, and the results have been very good. There’s not much Tenpai on the ladder, so you almost always get to go second now.

Majority of handtraps this format are not very good (except Droll) unless you have 3+ in your opening hand, so I just decided to replace them all with breakers.

The MVPs of the deck are the draw cards, since they heavily discourage the opponent’s plays and get you more breakers for turn 2. I originally ran Droll in the deck, but it had too much negative synergy with all the draw power. I also originally ran 2 Lightning Storm but replaced them with a 3rd Dark Hole and TTT, since they conflicted too much with Phantazmay, Super Poly, and Magnamhut.

I see some people saying Superpoly is bad this format, but I completely disagree. It’s fantastic against decks like Tear and Branded, and still very good against Azamina Snake-eye. Superpoly lets you out Ilia Silvia + IP Masq or Desirae + Ilia Silvia, which makes the rest of their board very vulnerable to the rest of your breakers. Occasionally you can also out Baronne + Apollousa or Unicorn. Basically it makes an unbreakable board breakable.

Ultimate Slayer is also something I considered, but the ED space is too tight with Super Poly. Desirae can also play around Ultimate Slayer if they have a spell or trap to chain to its activation. You could probably replace Super Poly with Slayer though, you’d just need to change the ED.

Really the biggest thing with this deck is managing resources and sequencing your breakers/bait correctly. With so many discard cards, it’s pretty easy to run out of gas in hand if you’re not careful.
