Notes & Combos

Speedroids! Three Terrortop alongside Kashtira Unicorn really helps the deck's resilence going second and against interruption, and the flexible approach to combos that set you up well for turn 3 remains as fun as ever.

My favourite aspect of the current version of the deck is in how Unicorn and Talents let you peek at the Extra Deck and the hand. The Speedroid Extra Deck is a flexible toolbox, and being able to tailor your endboards to your opponent's deck is huge boon. Accordingly I found I didn't miss the second Crystal Wing too much, but the ED can be shuffled around to suit your preferences.

I found the climb pretty comfortable, Speedroids are capable enough into most decks, and you still win far too many free games from people scooping at the mere sight of Unicorn, which is a handy fringe benefit of the deck not being the most common one around.

Miscellaneous notes:

  • It's a Droll-heavy meta so I favoured using searching Ultra Hound over Marble with Terrortop's search
  • The deck copes fine with a few more than 40 cards since it has plenty of good starters, but I wouldn't want to dilute the Maxx C counters too much further
  • Borrowed the idea to include D. D. Crow over Small World from Quariongandrax's list, and that was a great help, particularly against SHS and Bystial Lubellions
  • Wheel is good to have access to as a search from Cork Shooter, mostly for hands where you want to discard Den-Den

Overall, I had fun climbing with the deck and felt it kept up with the meta pretty well, so definitely try it out if you're curious.
