Notes & Combos
Another season where I climbed with Chimera! With the addition of Nightmare Apprentice and Diabellze, the deck got really strong, getting both a solid consistency boost and a stronger endboard, with lots of interaction points, making it possible to go all the way up to Master I with pure Chimera.
Combos change depending on your hand and what handtraps your opponent hit you with, but the goal is to end on Diabellze, Evolzar Lars and/or Silhouhatte Rabbit (with the trap set of course), plus Chimera Fusion setup (to possibly make Guardian Chimera during your opponent's turn), while also ripping one card out of your opponent's hand in the process. Sometimes you can even end on Magnum the Reliever or one of the Chimera Fusions (to make use of the Swordknight negate + Coatl target protection) as well.
I decided to play 3 Edge Imp Chain because it makes for good fusion material and it's also a great discard for Nightmare Apprentice, granting you access to Frightfur Patchwork and allowing for more powerful plays.
The Silhouhatte Rabbit package is something I enjoyed playing as well, I like Silhouhatte Trick but you could also run Azurune instead.
Nightmare Magician is not mandatory, but I like it, it's fun to play and can be helpful to out some cards and end games, especially when destruction is not an option (Yubel, Bystial Druiswurm, etc).
In this deck, I feel like playing too many handtraps can be bricky, since you need monsters for your fusion plays. Instead, I tried playing some cards which are useful going both 1st and 2nd - I chose Super Polymerization and Triple Tactics Talent, but you could consider other cards such as Book of Eclipse.
