Notes & Combos

I've been trying to use Ib since she was unbanned and the result is this 60 card pile. My combo is based on this video by てにりり. The basic endboard is Boss Stage, UDF, 2 handrips and Phantom of Yubel. If you have any questions you can leave a comment.

This deck looks unplayable at first glance with how many bricks it has, but we have access to a lot of 1 and 2 card combos to get to what we need. Phantom can unbrick fiends in your hand, and Vala can unbrick Generaiders. I play 19 non-engine which I find acceptable.

FAQ

  1. What are the pros and cons of this deck?

Pros: You can bluff with the Yubel engine and get some free surrenders. You can open cracked and steamroll your opponent. And you get to play with Generaiders, one of the coolest archetypes.

Cons: Sometimes you fold to one imperm. The extra deck is also unbelievably cramped, there are at least 5 utility cards I want to play that I can't because everything is mandatory.

  1. How do you have enough starters?

Dark Beckoning Beast can climb into Auroradon, which means I have 14 starters and 6 pseudo-starters (Loptr/Boss Stage), not to mention hands like Hornet Drones + Veiler which is actually full combo. I didn't brick too much during the climb, but you can consider playing a bigger Sky Striker engine.

  1. How to deal with Maxx C and Mulcharmies?

Generaider and Yubel both put up interruptions with minimal effort. You can also summon Harr off of Boss Stage and he pays for his own draw by handripping the opponent.

  1. Why 2 O-lions?

This is a hard garnet. If you play 1, you see it in 8.33% of your hands and now your entire Yubel engine has no goal. The odds of drawing 2 copies is 0.56%, plus you can banish one to summon the other.

  1. Why Hela?

Because Nidhogg is useless. Hela gives Boss Stage infinite grind, plus she can revive a Generaider if you don't have board space for Vala.

  1. How is your Auroradon not getting negated?

A note on Auroradon decks in general. Auroradon dies to every handtrap, so your engine needs to be threatening enough to check for all of them.

Example 1: Summon Unicorn search Birth, summon Ascended of Thunder, make Galaxy Tomahawk. Except now I risk losing, because Unicorn doesn't clear anything except Droll.

Example 2: Normal Beast, normal Lotus, pretend I'm playing Yubel Unchained. This baits every handtrap except Phantazmay, so my Auroradon is safe.
