Notes & Combos

Whelp, there it is boys.

I did the whole master grind with this. Took a break in M5, played some meta decks and it just felt coinflippy with the hand trap trading, playing into fuwa and maxx C every game.

ENTER: Flame Swordsman Ninjas, a deck with 2 engines that both love normal summoning and passing on a trap or two if they have to, making the fuwa and maxx C discarders go negative. You can also slump them for everything they're worth when you have thrust which comes up A LOT now and I've got a bunch of replays of slump just outright instawinning me games. It's better than it's ever been in this 9x Maxx C meta. ideally you want to get them to around 8 cards in hand as you go into Apo, with flame swordsman traps backing her up. If they ash the slump, you apollo negate and pray to god they don't draw 2 insane cards. Haven't lost after slumping yet tho so they'd need something insane to get past apo and traps with just 2 cards.

The idea with this deck is both engines synergize super well with each other and do better than either could do alone. Ninjas may be the ONLY deck that can take advantage of flame swordance's GY effect which is KEY to winning the Tenpai matchup if they make it to the battle phase. You can tribute a f/d ninja for UFS then use salamandra with chain in GY to summon the salamandra fusion, quick effect equip to UFS and pop chundra, usually ending the duel right there. This is an extra layer of disruption coming from GY which most decks don't really have an answer for, so even if you eat a lightning storm + droplet, it's not over yet.

END BOARD is a ninja end board backed up with the 2 flame swordsman traps. Apo + Meizen + Dupe + Flame swordance + salamandra with chain is your most common end board, using Kagero as your fire target for chain if the opponent is on a non-fire deck. High roller hands usually involve heroic call and can let you end with promethean in GY or rabbit + azurune in addition to the other cards. I experimented with Apophis as an omni negate but tbh, the rabbit ends up being a desperation end board play with 2 link materials and Azurune is WAY better in that instance than apophis. It's rare you lose if you went full combo anyway, so I think apophis might be win more. It's an option though. But if you run it, def run both azu and apoph. I know the BAYOU NINJITSU is hype though.
