Notes & Combos
Hi, first MDM decklist share, I main RDA in TCG and MD, I usually focus on TCG over MD but I always try to find the optimal builds for both formats, I love deckbuilding, theorycrafting and going in depth with probability maths. Been hitting M1 multiple times on MD since the resonator support came out last year.
I'll go into details about this list, nd decided to go with a 60 card version once again, mainly to dilute the bricks with high quality non engine. Pls note that the entire purpose of that concept falls appart if we keep adding more bricks.
For the engine we have 22 1CC starters (90% consistency), Idea was to max out starters that guarantee followup next turn which is how we win handtrap wars.
Non engine line up was difficult to put together because this format asks many different and contradictory things from players :
- Be able to win going 1st against Tenpai after Fuwalos addition.
- Be able to win going 2nd against Yubel after Varudras addition.
- Be able to win going 1st after passing turn with very little on board because of a double Charmy/MaxxC combo.
With those things in mind I've rebuilt my deck from scratch and came to the conclusion I needed exacly Droplet and Cosmic Cyclone on top of a moderate but reliable 16 handtraps package. Droplet can deal with Varudras and an attacking Chundra altogether, it can use a dead fuwalos going 1st or the extra draws from it going 2nd. Cosmic is less obvious but it's a very underrated card in this format imo, so many insane targets that make your life feel so much easier.
Lastly I dediced to abuse both Charmies and Tenpai by slapping 4 floodgates which have insane synergy with Auxila and Soul protection effects while being easily removable with Bone. I got surprised by how effective they proved to be even going 2nd because almost every game is either Maxx C or Fuwalos involved or both and it creates a lot of semi boards that are easy to break but not always to otk through. These floodgates allowed to seal those games pretty fast either going 1st or 2nd. Also f*ck tenpai. Deck Lockdown could perform better than Anti-Spell.
Thanks for the read, will probably grind Rated next and update this list frequently.
