Notes & Combos
This deck takes advantage of some of Crystal Beast's most powerful utilities: making rank 4s, removal, and searching field spells. It doesn't summon Rainbow Dragon, so it doesn't play the more bricky Crystal Beasts, although I do miss summoning Overdrive. The deck plays two powerful field spells: the Centur-Ion field spell and the Horus field spell. Both are starters into a powerful engine and you can choose which to search based on the situation. However, if you are able to access both, make sure you end your turn on the Centur-Ion spell so you can make Synchro plays on the opponent's turn. Infernal Flame Banshee is typically your go-to rank 4 when going first. Search Nemeses Flag to go into S:P and Colossus. However, if you already have Flag or Corridor, if you can make Banshee without using your normal summon (with Golden Rule or Bridge of the Heart's extra normal summon), you can search Centur-Ion Trudea and start the Centur-Ion line by normal summoning it. On the opponent's turn, you go for Crimson Dragon and then Cosmic Blazar, as usual. This build performed surprisingly well this season. Barely any bricked hands, a stark contrast to any Overdrive version I've played. However, I do miss playing Overdrive, and I'm going to continue trying different builds that play it.
