Notes & Combos
Notable Changes From Season 30
Continuing the Snake Eye handtrap larp from last format:

I added eXceed over the 2 Subtractions to add a "starter" that also helped extend past handtraps. This also compensates for the lack of Defenser/Aratama.
Prosperity is the main reason I was able to achieve this. While counterintuitive since it halves damage, its pretty similar in concept to Desires where you use this to dig for Circular in times where you don't have it. Banish 3 (Usually S:P, V-LAN, I:P, or Aggregator) bumps the chance of seeing Mining / Small World / Circular from 69.4% to roughly 72%. This card can also dig for Maxx outs and play through handtraps by grabbing extenders, so its utility for the 1 deck space and letting me go down from 44 to 40 was appreciated.
The half damage going 2nd didn't come up but I acknowledge there's going to be some lost games if the only way to win is to Multi + Tera OTK. You would still need to disregard games where you didn't open Circular though. Even when you handtrap the top decks correctly your chances of winning decrease without Circ. So if you grab Circ and you can't OTK, there's still the chance to win on T4.
Using the chocomintice program on Github, I was able to obtain an 87.7% playability rate, which I'll take. The important part here is that I was able to fit 18 handtraps in 40, which is something Snake Eye can do but Math was unable to replicate (cutting Defenser & Aratama is crazy!). Marincess can do 20 HT in 40 which is impressive.
I end on S:P combo since it's the most efficient way to create a board with 1 Circ. I think about playing Heatsoul, Update Jammer, Singularity, or 2nd Laplacian. The flex spots are I:P, S:P, V-LAN, Aggregator.
Jammer is useful vs Yubel since it can trade with them through battle and in some cases help you OTK through Nightmare Pain.
Matchup Breakdown (100 Duels; 54 Heads, 46 Tails)
- 16 Yubel (16%, W/R = 68%)
- 13 Tear (13%, W/R = 69%)
- 10 SEFK (10%, W/R = 70%)
Honorable Mentions: 7 Centur-ION & Horus decks, 4 Floowandereeze, Kash, R-ACE, & Supreme King
The meta feels diverse despite my belief that fire decks are the dominant decks. Yubel trending as the most popular deck makes sense because its cheap and makes very ignorant boards with Yama. Surprisingly, handtrapping them to death in spite of Phantom of Yubel seems to work while Nib cleans up Yama boards.
