Notes & Combos
Tiaraments strongest. Got really lucky during the last stretch of the climb. Either that I went first or my opponent bricked but on one occasion I dismantled a Mathmech board going second with a good hand.
Reasoning for some of my card choices:
- 3x Sea Mare + 3x Grief: Sea Mare and Grief have INSANE synergy with Reinoheart in the way it lets you dump a Tear without using Reino's effect, which you can Summon right after with Grief. Sea Mare also acts as bait so you can just continue with whatever you have right after it got disrupted.
- Shaddoll Squamata + Beast: People might think Hollow + Beast is better but to be frank I think it's not. Other like-minded players argue that a mill 2 isn't as good as more consistency for a draw 1, and if you get to mill 3 or more with Hollow you're probably already winning and the extra mills might be wasting your future resources.
- Gamma: It sometimes can be bricky as heil but when it goes off it's like chewing 5 pieces of gum at the same time. I also believe it's essential if you want to play Chaos Ruler because 1. Level 7 + Level 1 Tuner is too specific of a requirement to justify playing Chaos Ruler and 2. You need more LIGHT monsters than just Snow for CRuler's second effect and 3. Cross Sheep can revive Gamma to make Baronne. Otherwise I think it's essentially a +2 in pure card advantage and playing 42 cards mitigate some of the bricking issues.
- Jet Synchron: There are several different ways to add low-leveled Tuners to this deck. We've seen Fengli, Jet, Fengli + Spore and Jet + Fengli. A single Jet is the safest to me, especially when I don't emphasize too much on Synchro plays. Spore is winmore with Fengli, and opening Fengli is a death sentence. You already got a Level 2 Tuner you can get to with Cross Sheep, and you can fix opening Jet by the myriad of discard options. Best option if you don't play too many Synchros.
- Gameciel: Facing Kash and Purrely pi$$ed me off so I just included 2 copies. Never really used them except as material for Fusions since inclusion.
- The ED: What I believe to be absolutely essential in the ED includes: the Tear Fusions (3 cards); Chaos Ruler + Baronne (2); Redoer + ZEUS (2); Cross Sheep + Dharc + Goddess (3). Total: 10 cards. You can check other lists for ED options. Would love to suggest but I'm on my word limit.
