Notes & Combos
🔥🔥Volcanic Grass🔥🔥
My luck this season was astronomically 💩. This took me a full 2 weeks. I noted every cointoss, starting from Master IV:
- won: 77 ; of which had Maxx "C" in opponents hand: 23
- lost: 141
- total: 218
- Server disconnects during coin toss: 3 (no rating changes)
- Amount of times I was allowed to go first despite coinloss: 2
I had a probability of 1/244896 for tossloss 141 / 218 tosses. Almost 2/3rd of every cointoss was a *** loss. Idk why the game hates me this much but it's maddening. If this go-second spree somehow doesn't convince you of this "FTK" deck's capacity to win in spite of going second, then nothing will.
Play this deck and get some wins to represent the glory of Volcanics cause the game's luck barely lets me 💀.
Yubel
a-ok match up. High handtrap count, but nothing native to the deck is an issue. It took 30th-ish Yubel game for me to notice Nightmare Pain forces you into the Battle Phase. Volcanics REALLY don't give a *** and just Burn them. Volcanics are less prone to Super Poly than most decks, in part because... FTK; other parts cause we increment progress into GY and Links. The Unchained Links however are an issue and force Volcanics to have: VBA/Subversion & 2 (or more) starter/extenders; to beat them when going second.
Yubel >> Rescue-ACE, Mannadium, Omni-Negate Snake-Eye Board, or Synchrons; match up wise.
This deck:
Grass with a lower count = less of a chance to lose FTK when milling, but still good enough extension potential; meanwhile going second you won't "need" the FTK toolset and mill 20. Going second you have a great chance to put VBA up, access Emperor, and draw with WANTED. Most people running 43-ish decks is still fine.
Cause I went second so much, I started running Triple Tac. I don't believe it's as good going first as you did like, but it's a great tool when going second.
Side deck are cards I occasionally included. They are preference. Imperm 2 & 3 completed 1-2 Evenly. Evenly didn't win me the games it got used, but I would still say it's worth it in spite of brick potential. Helps against Rescue-ACE, Fire King, Yubel, and also Stun though never got to use it on Stun. Monster Handtraps are a bit worse with Yubel around, especially Nibiru. Fire Eject is a 2 off right now with Yubel's Gamma usage... if only I went first 50% of the time instead of <35.5%.
If they Limit Bonfire I will be running Small World. Probably with 3 Shell, 2 Ejects, and 1 bridge piece
Replays
ID: 282-051-848. I added 2 replays:
- most recent = go 2nd vs Yubel.
- other: FTK through Maxx "C" and other handtraps you can expect in Yubel, and it turned out to be a Yubel deck.
