Notes & Combos

I played Sinful Labrynth Midrange once more to M1, a deck that's has multiple profiles/notes on it at this point, so if you're totally new to this deck and curious, as always, I would suggest to check out past entries on it. Conceptually this list remains fairly sold, where the baseline quality of its threats, value engines and interaction help secure a good match-up against other midrange decks that look to grind while the higher-reaching non-engine inclusions help stabilize against hungrier combo decks and players that tend to trend on the greedy side. This deck continues to be good playing to the board and pushing for CA early, condensing the game as it trades up and then using smartly sequenced disruption to maintain that advantage - and while a lot of its decisions are open-ended across a given turn cycle, your choices are rather meaningful, so tighter, heads-up play is still rewarded. Personally, I find that to be one of the most fun aspects while piloting it, and all-around a touchpoint that kept this season's climb pretty enjoyable for me.

Notes

There's not too much of a change here between the list from the season prior and this one in design. Mainly visible, there's a shift to a 2/2 split that breaks the previous Droll set for Nibirus as a hedge towards Horus (It's worth noting that at the time of my climb Calamity has yet to be banned officially in-game) while also respecting combo a bit more overall. Cosmic Cyclones are also making an appearance in the main, and while it can be viewed as another nod against Horus to further press players on them, I think its positioning in the current environment on a grander scale is a bit slept on, and on a whole, liked the utility it offered on my way to M1. The rise in Horus since its release has correlated with a rise in stun cards on ladder, and having Cosmics for anyone who was flooding of course was nice, but even Cosmicing cards like HQ in the grind, OS off of Dia, Big Welcome off of furniture, etc - the game to game routine exchanges that came up felt pretty good too. I was satisfied with the choice for this run.
