Notes & Combos
Trying out the Strikers package for this month. It was pretty good! Def better now that we've got a solid "just 2 warriors" end board. I ended up cutting mitsu towards the end because I always draw her and she's a bit of a brick. Can make getting Apollousa at the end a little tricky sometimes tho so I'll probably put her back in, just wanted to test without her. Generally if you didn't draw your combo pieces, you can still end on Charles + Apo + Lancer + Hu Li or Little Knight but that extra extension she adds can help fix weird hands. Still, it's better not ever drawing her lol
What does sky strikers do for this deck you ask?
Engage baits ash. Hornet drones is a 1.5 card Isolde (hornet drones + literally any monster is Isolde). You get widow anchor for going second (came in clutch towards the end, negating and stealing a snash after I got drolled and then ashed on Isolde). And people often negate Kagari thinking you're sky strikers, which is nice. Lastly, eagle booster makes Invoker and Isolde unaffected in the EMZ, meaning you can resolve through hand traps / back row without having to worry about getting negated.
The hornet drones Isolde combo is: Drones > Kagari, add back drones > Drones > summon anything > kagari + what you summoned into Little Knight, little knight + hornet drones into Isolde. Cool thing here too, is that you get the banish effect on SP going this route, which can be nice going second.
All in all this is a very competent deck going first or second, much better at both than many decks. You may brick sometimes, but I'd say 14 out of 15 hands are playable. And maybe 1 in 3 games you get a truly exceptional hand that seems like it can play through just about anything.
