Notes & Combos
This deck is designed for going second.
- Triple Tactics Thrust can add any normal spell/trap from deck to hand as long as the opponent controls a monster and has activated a monster effect during your turn, which is usually the case when going second. This card can be used to add Engage or other powerful spell cards to hand.
- Change of Heart can be added to hand with thrust and can take control of an opponent's monster until the end phase, which can attack, use its effects, and be used as link material. This can be useful when summoning Camellia, since Camellia can use any 2 effect monsters as material, so it can be summoned by using Change of Heart to take control of an opponent's monster and normal summoning any effect monster, then link summoning.
- Evenly Matched can be added to hand by thrust and can be used to make the opponent banish all cards they control except for one by activating it from the hand at the end of the battle phase while controlling no other cards. In order to meet the requirement of controlling no other cards, you can use Zeke to banish itself until the end phase of the opponent's turn, or you can use a Sky Striker link monster (usually Hayate) to attack and be destroyed by battle with Raye in GY, which triggers Raye to summon from GY, then at the end of the battle phase, you can activate Raye, then chain Evenly Matched. Cards such as Afterburners, Lightning Storm, and Widow Anchor can be be used to remove or negate cards that can negate evenly matched.
- Harpie's Feather Duster and Lightning Storm can be used to destroy all spell/trap cards the opponent controls, and can be added to hand by thrust.
- Herald of the Abyss can also be added to hand by thrust. The main reason this card is included is because it can be used to remove unaffected or untargetable monsters, which are otherwise difficult to remove, and it also prevents the sent monster from activating its effects. This can be useful if the opponent controls Expurrely Noir with My Friend Purrely on the field, since it can make the opponent send Expurrely Noir to the GY without triggering My Friend Purrely. It can also be used to make the opponent use monster effects by declaring the type/attribute of a monster with a quick effect (such as I:P or Baronne).
- Area Zero provides additional consistency since it can add an excavated Sky Striker card, and it is an additional way to send cards you control to GY, which can be useful if Multirole is banished by desires.
