Notes & Combos
I wanted to try the new Fire Kings and it is one of the most fun Meta decks that I have played.
Why play this deck?
-
Aggressive beatdown deck with multiple disruptions from the Fire Kings (Kirin/Arvata/Eternity), and the Link Monsters (IP/SP/Promethean/Amblowhale/Apollousa). You can efficiently negate/destroy your opponents cards, while maintaining your card advantage.
-
The resource gathering and recursion keeps you ahead of the game. Duelittle/Sunlight allows you to recycle your Ash Blossom/Ponix/Kirin/Oak/Flamberge. I have half my deck in the graveyard ready to be used/revive/trigger.
-
Even if you only start with only the Snake-Eyes cards or only the Fire King cards you can end on a Pure Snake-Eyes/Fire Kings which has enough disruption and follow-up. It is adaptable and consistent given the circumstances.
Cons of playing this deck.
-
Banishment is a nightmare for this deck. Dimensional Shifter/Kashtira/Exorsisters/Stundeck.
-
To follow up on th-SURPISE EVENLY MATCHED!!!
-
You need to be more conscious and plan ahead which cards to destroy, which monsters to revive from Kirin/Amblowhale/Arvata, which link monsters to summon (Promethean locks you to FIRE), which cards to retrieve from the grave via Duelittle/Sunlight. This is pretty much a learning experience under a pressure of a time limit.
Card Choices:
-
Hand Traps (13 Total) (MVP) (Core): The best of the best; standard package. The other hand traps are too situational to be used.
-
Snake-Eyes Package (Core): Brings enough monsters to link climb.
-
FIre Kings (Core): Kirin 3 is a must, it allows you to manually destroy Amblowhale instead of Promethean, its also the best card to be destroyed by Garunix since it can revive your Fire Kings, then pop a card.
-
Diabellstar Package: 2 is enough, and this card is just another way to get the OSS.
-
Ulkanix package: I do not like playing Ulkanix but it searches Ponix/Kirin or trigger Garunix/Kirin/Arvata to send cards/revive cards. The 2nd effect WAY too balanced. I can only special summon a specific monster in the deck only? So the 2nd effect is either dead because High Avatar is on the hand/GY, or I just never used it because Arvata/Kirin gets priority.
-
Thrust/Designator/Called (MVP): I would never have made it this far if I didn't have these cards to counter hand traps.
-
HeatSoul/Sunlight/DueLittle: Competes with IP Masque but the hand trap draws and resource recursion makes it worth going into.
