Notes & Combos
Exceed the Pendulum is the new MVP of the deck. With her, solo activation becomes a new one-card combo (almost as good as Shinonome). Arktos becomes so much easier to make. The endboard is usually 2-negate Apollousa (with Performapal Duelist battle protection), I:P masquerna, and dweller/Baronne/Bagooska. This end board may look simple but surprisingly good enough in the current meta.
I think this deck is now better not playing the floodgates (fossil dyna + secret village). With the free slots, we can play more handtraps (11 in my version) and have fewer bricks.
A few notes:
- Baronne and Borreload Savage Dragon can only be made if you have access to Wakaushi.
- Dweller (also our field spells) are extremely good against fire king.
- In many cases I:P masquerna has higher priority than Arktos because it's two interuptions.
- 2 Beyond the Pendulum's help play through negates because it's not hard once-per-turn.
How I play this deck now:
- Place the field spells if I open them to turn off imperm and evenly match.
- Make electrumite (or beyond for board breaking or need to play through negates). We can get to electrumite from Shinonome, solo activiation, Joker / Wakaushi + field spell or any special summon.
- Search for missing pieces with electrumite: my priority is usually Shinonome > Joker > level-6 vaylantz > level-4. Joker will get us the pendulum scales with monkeyboard -> performapal duelist.
- Make exceed the pendulum. The typical target for recyling from the extra deck is typically the level-6 vaylantz so that you can special summon it by the effect of exceed and make Grand Duke.
- (Optionally) Make Apollousa to turn off Nibiru.
- Make the endboard with what we still have after getting negated or nibiru-ed.
I am still learning about this deck:
- How to setup a board under maxx C
- How to use droll to self-lock and still make a reasonable board / OTK going second
