Notes & Combos

Managed to go M5 to M1 with only this Ritual Beasts with Bystials deck!

I do have a similar decklist posted last season, but made some small changes here. I used to run 2 Bystial Lubellion, but I had a few too many matches where I drew Dimension Shifter with Bystial Lubellion (sometimes both) in my starting hand, which means either becomes a dead card in the hand and it was especially bad when I had both copies of Lubellion and Shifter in my starting hand.

I decided to cut 1 copy of Lubellion and 1 copy of Branded Regained, and added Bystial Saronir as well as Ghost Belle. Ghost Belle works pretty well in the current meta as it can block stuff like Lurrie, Hallowed Azamina and Bident Dragion.

I removed my Jinzo xyz for another copy of Ulti-Reira, but you can instead run stuff like Underworld Goddess, Appollousa, etc.

How I play certain scenarios

When I suspect my opponent has Fuwalos/Maxx "C" and is holding it for a better moment:

  1. If I only have cannahawk available, banish Lara, activate her effect (opponent will use Fuwalos/Maxx "C" here) to summon a lvl 4 RB and go for Bagooska
  2. If I have a RB tamer and Cannahawk, do not use Lara's effect yet; I will go for Ulti-Canna first
  3. If I have RBs both on board and grave, I will go for Ulti-Nochiu first

When I suspect opponent has Nibiru: I always try to keep a normal summon available so that if opponent chooses to Nibiru early, I will still be able to recover somewhat from it. If not, I will quickly go for Ulti-Gaiapelio (Most players expect Appollousa, but not Ulti-Gaia)

When going second, I love to ram Winda into things to get a free Ulti-Reira out if possible. If Winda is destroyed by battle, cards that can negate effects (not activations) such as Azamina Silvia cannot respond to Winda's effect during damage step (Except Apollousa).
