Notes & Combos
The biggest issue with Yubel is its reliance on the normal summon, making it vulnerable to hand traps. I found that the Millennium cards help mitigate this by enabling a semi-reliable board setup without using the normal summon. With these cards, you can consistently get Phantom, Desi, and Rage (in the graveyard), effectively increasing your one-card starters to 15—five of which (Millennium cards) don’t require a normal summon.
Snake-Eyes in the Extra Deck is essential for generating the necessary bodies on the field, allowing Millennium cards to convert into the three bodies required for Fiendsmith to access the Yubel engine. Given this setup, I believe Beatrice is a better option than Aerial, as Fiendsmith and Millennium cards can reliably produce two Level 6 monsters. Preserving the effect of Sequence has also proven valuable in my experience, allowing for stronger board-building when dealing with hand traps. That said, while I used Beatrice throughout my climb from Master 2 to 5, I switched to Aerial for my Master 1 climb just to try something different. Additionally, when summoning Snake-Eyes from the Extra Deck, you can use Requiem while it's attached as material, preserving a Millennium body for the next turn in a grind game.
Finally, I believe Yubel should be played at a minimum of 44 cards to reduce half-bricks while maintaining consistency. Given the current meta, this also ensures you have the necessary amount of hand traps to stay competitive when going second.
