Notes & Combos
I tried multiple different variations during my climb
- Started With Horus memento in diamond. It wass fine, the cards can weirdly conflict sometimes, but drawing imsety + starter is good. I high rolled a decent amount with zombie vampire.
- From M5-M3 I cut the horus cards and played a list with verte (branded fusion). I picked branded because I could afford all 4 exta deck slots (verte, rindbrumm, mirrorjade, and irondash) and it's only 2 main deck slots, but fusion destiny is a better draw (you can hard make rindbrumm, but its not that good). I ended up not making verte that much because you either get stuck on one guy, or go full combo in which case I would rather use two bodies to make i:p
- from M2 - M1 I played a 40 card with super poly, then decided super poly was not good enough and opted for handtraps. Not sure what the optimal way to play is. This list is certainly not optimal (no rota or one-for-one for starters).
My go-to endboard was field spell, cranium burst, boss guy, elf, ip. Trade ip for s:p if you are fearing nib. Ending on fusion spell for chimera is also very good. bone dance is also good to end on, against set 5 you can summon dark blade and get a pop on their turn.
The extra deck is very flexible here, but everything I played came up besides apollousa. 2 s:p, elf, and i:p are mandatory. I strongly reccomend guardian chimera because a lot of hands get to the fusion spell in very few summons under roach.
My climb was mostly against snake-eyes, where 3 veiler, 3 imperm, and gamma were all very good. I struggled with killing, but with s:p and chaos angel you can banish cards crucial for their follow up, putting them in a position where cranium burst wins. Hard drawn subversion happens more than you would think, so its very important to get the boss in an elf zone.
