Notes & Combos

Dopamine! Big numbers! Everything gets colored red, everything is 🔥 & 💀.

Game plan:

FTK going first, or segway into Snake-Eye Apo, or Horus, or double Emperor burn plays. Break their knees mid set up going second then beatstick them with 3K+ attackers and/or burn from Inari / Emperor / Fire Art. I won as many games going first as I did second in Master 3 -> Master 1.

Notes

Read the Master 5 one for other combos and match ups. https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/may-2024/volcanic/rhydonphilip/tqimu

I'm trying 2 Emperor. Unsure if the games I won with double Emperor pass was worth the brickage, but it's what I used for the final rank up.

I dropped Scattershot as it's just not worth it. GY Raigeki is fun, as is 500 burn CHIP... but I do not miss losing 1/5th my opening hand 26% of the time.

Blaze Accelerator Reload is a legal target so VBA replaces VBA. Sure, it's no longer quick effect Raigeki but it's still a great GY fodder effect for Emperor or Shell. I did say it's worth, up to the users choice.

I haven't tried Fire Recovery or Monster Reborn. Realise TCG doesn't have to deal with "C" before blindly taking from a TCG deck list.

2 Triple Tac felt great.

Barricadeborg discards Trooper/Rim.

Backrow removal lets you: seethe on R-ACE; force activation for Snake-Eyes; and deal with decks you out resource anyways. Stun, I can be thankful to say, I haven't ran into since master 3. Playable, but can brick.

Matchups

  • Kash is almost never pure Kash in Master 3 -> 1, thus I can accept losing Princess to Unicorn and then beatstick. If it is pure kash when going second... unfortunate.

  • Snake-Eyes: as unimaginable as it sounds, this deck has a good match up against it, all be it iffy hands. You can expect to win going second so long as they don't have diabell + s.ash, as it implies baronne and other negates, you will lose if that is the case. Otherwise it's recursion and 3-4 mat Apo or S:P, you did normally be able to access Subversion or double beatstick out the Apo with Horus. Burn and out resource them after that.

  • Rescue Ace. The hardest common deck to face. Your hand needs to be pure gass or the right interupts or you will just lose going second. It's a minimal handtrap deck to check the FTK.

Replays

ID: 282-051-848. No new replays. It's the same FTK that people actually do sit through to the end in Master 3 to 1. Or if they go first and run out of buttons to press: they scoop.
