Notes & Combos
I ranked up to M5 by accident. That is why I am here now.
I initially did not want to get to Master at all and just chill in Diamond doing only quests, playing garbage like Slash Draw FTK. However, I was playing a little MD while watching videos on YT and suddenly I have seen the Master rank-up message.
Well, feels bad, man. Staying on M5 is not good for the economy, so I decided to eventually go for M1 - and I wanted to do it as fast and pain-free as possible.
Was it fast?
Yes. I reached M1 in a day, despite deranking from M3 directly to M5. A 10-game and a 13-game winning streak did help.
Was it pain-free?
No.
Time for a rant:
The current format is not fun. I hate the 1-card combo + 'any HT that exists' deck building formula. The decks that you get that way are good, sure, but they are also extremely boring and lame. It is also not particularly skillful either. Playing through disruption with engines is much more engaging and exciting. The power level of decks is too high, Konami needs to lower the strength of all decks across the meta (my idea of introducing VERY frequent rotations/mass bans would fix these issues, but even my cope is not that potent).
The kinds of decks you see on the ladder are thus also very swingy. Let me explain:
Because every deck ever can annihilate you on sight, when allowed to, you will usually - not always - need some defensive cards that curb their output. If you do not, you will get locked out of the game in some way. So, you get all those ugly decks with tons of HTs that produce ugly games, where you just throw your Maxx Cs at them and wait for them to surrender or have a counter. And what makes Tenpai better than most decks? You can fit in as many or more HTs than them and you get more consistent ways to finish a game once there is an opening. How revolutionary.
So, even if you play a „good“ deck like Tenpai, you will sometimes get creamed. You opened no HTs? You opened only HTs? Your opponent has that Crossout or Called By? You lose. Skill issue.
Replays
ID: 670-600-551 - I will have some Tenpai replays to watch, at least for a while. I might also upload a YT video on my channel, although the deck that I used is quite boring.
I went on that 13-game winning streak all the way to the last game of M2. Then I lost one, won one, lost one and won two to complete the climb. All public replays on my profile are wins from that period.
