Notes & Combos

Another fun climb up to M1. This season I was looking forward to knowing that Kash Mirrors are easy to win if you know what you are doing.

In fact I never lost a Kash Mirror during this run. When the new pack dropped I was already M4 with Purrely. Then I switched to this deck, tried Scareclaw for M3-M2, then changed back to this when I fell back to M3 and climbed immediately to M1.

In total I played 14 duels from M3->M1, winning 9-4. I kept track of my opponents, it was quite a diverse climb.

Wins Vs:

  • 3 Kash
  • 2 Spright/Gishki
  • 1 Purrely
  • 1 Speedroid
  • 1 Traptrix
  • 1 D-link

Loss Vs:

  • 1 Infernoid
  • 1 Albaz
  • 1 Labrynth
  • 1 Mikanko

In all 4 losses I went first. Shows this is a better going-2nd deck.

Infernoid game was crazy, I am probably going to add it to the Replays in case you are curious. He Sales Banned Ash and used Fairy Tail Snow to flip Arise down.

Albaz player had super poly on Arise T1 over my Imperm on his Albaz, lost that one.

Laby player was already M1 and it was a Rank Up game but he didn't want to be nice, had all his hand traps + D Barrier on me. The Barrier wasn't so bad, but it prevented the Macro Cosmos eff from Arise which allowed him to set back up after I had dismantled his first field.

But following that Laby game I played the Spright/Gishki and then Traptrix players who scooped turn 2 once Arise hit the field and I stopped their counters for it.

Mikanko is an easy matchup thanks to Scareclaw Kashtira, but they're putting a lot more counters in for Arise-Heart. He drew them then OTK'd with Double Edged Sword.

I wanted to go over the losses in depth rather than the wins. Most wins were eiher scoops or opponents bricking with their own Kashtira. And I think by this point you already know how this deck works here on MD.

Cards I never used:

  • Big Eye (Though the Threat of it was there)
  • Infinitrack Link
  • Skull Warrior Fusion
  • Black Luster Soldier Link
  • 2nd Shangri-Ira
  • 3rd Arise-Heart

Don't drop Big Eye or the 2nd Shangri-Ira. Dark Armed put in a lot of work, and Donner is almost mandatory to clear your own field after you get Nibiru'd.

Also I always tried to go Arise-Heart summon number 4 on Turn 1 rather than overextending and getting blown out by Nibiru. The games I didn't, I had Tactics to see their hand. And because of the frequency of Brick-tira, when they Maxx C'd me, I always used Tactics to shuffle a card back, leaving them -2 cards, and if I had Birth just normal summon Fenrir.
