Notes & Combos

Wanted to challenge myself this season by playing Labrynth without any floodgates or EEV.

At first I thought Gamma was kinda not great considering there were a lot of times where I had to make plays to get stuff on my field, turning off my Gamma, but Gamma is still a really good going second hand-trap that I can understand why it was being played in all of the topping Lab lists that I saw at the most recent MCS. It's still insanely high value if it resolves, you just don't need to always try to make your Gamma live, cause more often than not it will put you behind.

3 Cooclock is necessary to see the furniture combo as often as possible, as to pull it off you need at least 1 cooclock and 1 furniture in hand to do it. Doing it on Turn 0 is especially good because it allows you to interrupt your opponent during their T1 and also set up your board for when you're going second. However keep in mind that doing the combo leaves you vulnerable to Ash, so you'll want to try to play around Ash as much as possible.

Ariane is kind of a preference of mine. She is high-risk high reward in that if she gets Ashed or Imperm'd and I have no follow up, it can be real bad. However if she resolves I not only get out Arianna but I can XYZ into Evilswarm Nightmare, which is effective against Kashtira, Purrely, and even the mirror. Keep in mind though when getting out Evilswarm Nightmare against Purrely that they can technically play around him by getting out Beauty first, but if you have another interruption or a big welcome in grave, that can sometimes seal the deal. And even if you don't go into Evilswarm Nightmare, you can just leave both the maids on the field and they'll draw you 2 cards when you bounce a monster from field with a trap effect. Pretty insane if you ask me.

I replaced Kurikara with Nibs instead as Nibiru is technically still useful even when going first on the chance that your opponent is still able to special summon a lot even after your interruption. Kurikara is just a straight brick when going first so I took it out for that reason.

Called By actually came in handy in a lot of situations, whether it was to stop my opponent Ashing my Big Welcome or to mess up my opponent's plays. It's especially brutal in the mirror match.

Kind of amazing how Daruma Karma Cannon stops so many decks just on its own. Definitely an MVP card.

I stopped using Punishment because it was in no topping Lab lists and the extra deck lock hurts you more than you think it does
