Another month of rogue and another rough time on the ladder. This time my eyes were set on gate guardian as I rarely play fusions even though being one of my favorite summoning mechanics. Originally played a 60 card deck with more handtraps but decided to drop to 50 for more consistency especially with the help of the horus engine. Although our turn 2 can be non-existent at times our turn 1 can be quite deadly. Any deck that it is not tenpai we can set up apollousa with 3 negates and gate guardian of wind and water for double spell/trap negate with ease. We can also make masq to go into little knight or a xyz monster if we have the extra horus monsters on the field.

If we are playing against tenpai then our main goal is summoning what was a very underwhelming boss monster to a absolute unit of a tank. Summoning dark guardian with dark element has won me alot of duels against tenpai players cause they refuse to read the card effects fully.(Typing this out now I realize alot of players just refuse to read any of the gate guardian cards fully so feel free to abuse that.) With dark guardian on the field not only can it not be destroyed by battle but your opponent's spell and monster effects are useless on it. Still loses to a single imperm so not that invincible but alot of times I was able to stall duels before they were able to get imperm or they wasted imperm on something else before dark guardian was summon so they may be out of imperms for their turn. If you can't summon dark guardian then making photon lord and searching kuriphoton is plan b.

And with that that is a quick summary of the gate guardian deck. Overall a ok deck that needs more support cause playing kazejin, suijin, and sanga of the thunder are just bricks so having support cards that make having those cards in your hand less problematic would be the right way to go.
