Notes & Combos

Playing Purrely has been an interesting experience this season. Purrely's playstyle hasn't changed all that much from past iterations, but some techs make it quite a good antimeta choice. If you open Stray Purrely Street this deck can play through any onslaught of handtraps and end on a field that is quite resiliant against boardbreakers.

I replaced mini-game package (Maxx C, Called by, Crossout) with the Kashtira engine for extra flexibility. The Kashtira cards act as considerable handtrap magnets, are great discard outlets, and push for extra damage. Unicorn in particular can banish important extra deck one-ofs like Transcendent Dragon or Promethean Princess. Why not play Maxx C? Card unironically sucks. Tenpai is the most common deck on ladder and can just kill you undeterred. I prefer real cards to be able to actually stop their plays.

Speaking of Tenpai, the ideal endboard is 5+ material Noir and Essembled Nightingale. The Lyrilusc XYZ is better than Kikinagashi Fucho for two reasons. Fucho only prevents battle damage against itself, whereas Nightingale prevents all battle damage. If you somehow end up with stray attack position Kashtira or a random cat, Tenpai can still lethal you. Secondly, its weakness to Droplet is overstated; even if your opponent uses Droplet than they cannot use it on your Noir so feel free to spin everything away with impunity.

One tech everyone should consider is The Black Goat Laughs. Spend the UR, it's such a goat'd card. You just need to know the correct cards to call for each deck e.g. Chundra for Tenpai. Discard it with your Quick Plays and it can even help break boards going second.
