No Perlereino, no problem at all. Tearlaments strongest!

Tear is nice vs Tenpai

Even without the fieldspell, Tear is a really solid meta call in the current format that brought me to Master I quite effortlessly. The deck has an amazing Tenpai matchup, my Winrate against Tenpai was usually between 60% and 80% during my climb to Master I. The Scream debuff makes it so much harder for Tenpai to OTK, Rulkallos deals with any 1 card Tenpai combo and Tear being able to search Cryme protects you against some boardbreakers. If you have Shufflers in the GY, then it's even harder to OTK. Tenpai usually needs 3 engine cards to OTK through a Tear board after throwing 1-2 handtraps, but if you have any Tear non-engine like Talents, Superpoly or Droplet, then Tenpai has almost no chance unless they draw a custom hand, which doesn't happen very often. The biggest Tenpai threat is Shifter, but if you can avoid Shifter, you should win more often than not.

Consistency is everything

I want max consistency, which is the main reason why I play 40 cards, 3 Grief and a second Sea Mare to replace the banned Perlereino. With Tenpai in the current format, I think 3 Grief is absolutely mandatory. You need to have as much extension as possible to beat the opponents handtraps and Grief is the only extender that works after Imperm on Kit, which is the main choke point of this deck.

Non-Engine

Even with lots of Tenpai in the format, I think 3 Maxx C is still really good. Tenpai is not a major threat. The major threats are those heavy combo decks that build unbreakable boards if they don't get stopped by Maxx C. Keep in mind that Maxx C in hand is always a Cryme discard if you play against Tenpai Dragon.

My other non-engine cards are boardbreakers, that should help me to deal with endboards, while every single of those cards also works going 1st. Talents can ruin Tenpai hands after you got handtrapped, Superpoly can prevent countless OTKs and Droplet can also be a huge blowout against Tenpai by negating Chundra in the dmg step. I prefer a 2-2-2 split to prevent drawing the same breaker in multiple copies.

Extra Deck

Recently I added Dweller and I really like the card going 2nd vs Fire King or going 1st vs 60 cards. Blind Dweller vs 60 is often a fast and free win. You can still play the deck without Dweller, I think Dweller and Cross-Sheep are the only 2 flex spots. All of the other cards seem mandatory.
