Notes & Combos

First time reaching M1! Climb was smooth, went 15-5 with an 8-game winstreak in between. Lost 1 coinflip in my last 8 games, so definitely a bit lucky :)

This was the list I stuck with from M3-M1. Before that, I had tinkered a bit with the ratios and card choices.

This is what I slotted in/out as I was tinkering:

  • Dora Dora + Grandtusk Dragon
  • Dora Dora + 2nd Copy of Fadra
  • 2 Copies of Red Reboot
  • 2 Copies of Triple Tactics Talents

Some Notes Regarding the Card Choices:

  • One Fadra: I tried with 2, but I really don't like opening it & even if I do open the 1-of, the deck is consistent enough that I was usually able to get into Sangen Summoning, add something to hand then pitch Fadra to revive later with Bident Dragon & get Fadra's effect.

  • Dora Dora: I think it's good to have an extra normal summon for consistency's sake. It is definitely cuttable though.

  • Grandtusk Dragon: A potential target to summon off of Hieratic Seal. It came up a few times in mirror matches where I was forced to go 1st. It is the only real 'brick' I am playing & it is definitely replacable w an extender or consisteny card. It did win me a few games though. Depending on the handtraps I opened and if they were able to stop my opponent, I can also go into Magnamhut>search any starter if that option is better.

  • Pot of Prosperity: It's just good to be able to dig for basically any card (starter, extender, board breaker) as needed. Literally 1 time, it came up where I was interrupted multiple times and the damage reduction did come into play, but generally speaking the added consistency and flexibility over the course of multiple games is well worth the risk of missing lethal in 1 or 2 games.

  • Handtraps vs. Board Breakers: I found these ratios to be basically perfect. This resulted in a very good hand in like 90% of my duels. For a little while I was playing 2 Raigekis instead of the Lightning Storms, but I found that dealing with Backrow was more important, considering my Handtrap lineup handles monsters pretty effectively on opponents turn. Also Droplet is an INSANE card in this deck, definitely play it.

  • Extra Deck Cards: Almost everything came up at least once and ended up being necessary to win that duel. Only thing that came up literally 0 times was S:P, Ruddy Rose & Samurai Destroyer. Idk what else I would replace them for though.
